With the caveat that this is their nature when their home planet is lacking in Spirit. The Furies don’t tolerate that crap in their ranks, and they ain’t giving a Shaman nothin’ without agreeing to sign a morality contract. Azeroth is the weird place in the universe, not the rule.
There was only one time the Furies let their full fury unleashed and it was against the Gorian Empire after they tampered with the stones in Nagrand.
And that fury was so devastating it scared the shamans who called upon them and they all agreed to never call on such a power again
What exactly did the Furies do the Gorian Empire?
They utterly destroyed the main capital in such a rage that it scared the elder shamans and they agreed to never call on such destructive powers again and go back to peacefully communing with the elements
That pivotal moment is the one that essentially broken the Gorian Empires back and they never recovered from it
nature. all we did was bring in someone who belived the same things as ragnoros but weaker.
Shammies get a unique line when the fight starts.
Basically, tells us that we should be honoured to die by the weapon we gave him.
How’s that for gratitude, lol. At least Blizz put that detail in. Credit where credit is due.
My headcanon is that he is fighting for the freedom of Azeroth so allies with the mad Fyrakk out of necessity than pleasure, and regrets having to fight the champions of Azeroth but cannot stand by when they could potentially be on the precipice of breaking Azeroth free from the Titans. That makes sense from his perspective as an elemental lord who was put in prison by them.
However, that’s all wishful thinking. This entire raid is “Dude, remember Firelands?”
Smolderon in regards to his motives states that the Emerald Dream will serve as fuel for the Firelands, that Fire has a voracious appetite and that the Shaman Players should be honored to die by the weapon they gave him.
Such irony that he himself served as fuel for Fyrakk’s Ax which we ended up taking for ourselves!
Ragnaros is all “your world exists only to burn” and Smolderon is all “fuel for the Firelands” while Fyrakk(who is banished to the Firelands at the end of the Raid) is all “power is mine!”
Fyrakk was the only one with vision in the Firelands not that he is very smart about it. He will turn the Firelands to Shadowflame spreading the corruption to the entire Plane of Fire(and not just the Titan-owned Pocket known as the Firelands created by Ra-Den). You can be assured of that.
Of course the portals that Fyrakk open into the Firelands during the Raid Encounter seems to have Shadowflame seeping out of it to harm the Players so the place already has Shadowflame corruption.
The Legion has also been invading the Plane of Fire(the Overfiend in the Questline drawing from there is using Fel too no less) so don’t be surprised if Fel and Shadowflame fight it out over the Infinite Plane of Fire!
