It really was a non issue for the most part imo
Each week there was a soft cap on how much you could have in total.
Anything collected after that would be slow to get as you werent meant to farm it.
But some crazy people would farm it anyway and then the rest would cry that theyre now 1% worse off than the other player.
It was a case of farm for hours on end to gain a 1% advantage. Or wait until the weekly reset and be given it within an hour.
Some people are just too impatient.
The only people that had valid complaints about AP imo are those playing multiple specs as for some reason it was weapon specific and not character specific.
