yeah what he said lol
They use âestimatedâ in every single announcement. Thatâs not a deadline.
Call me crazy but i would just rather know upfront and not have an expectation of them doing what they SAID they would do and then seeming to fail EVERYTIME. I too would never take time off on a patch day though, just happened to be here today and was hoping to play when they told us we would be able to, does seem like an unrealistic expectation on my part. We went from a customer always right world to the corporation is always right and I think that is just 1 extreme to another.
I didnât take any time off work. I get off at 3 PM CDT, and should have only had to wait an additional 2 hours before the game would have been available to play given their 8 hour window they established.
With their new window, of 12 hours, this game supposedly will be available to play at 9PM, by which time I have to be in bed to wake up at 0430 tomorrow.
And If I tell my boss I estimate that Iâll be done by 3, and Iâm not, I have to explain why. As that was a âSoftâ deadline established. This is the same thing happening here. They established it would take them 8 hours to finish, establishing the soft deadline of completion. And we all know if I constantly stated 8 hours to my boss, and failed to meet that 8 hours constantly, it wouldnât be good.
Today twist, at 7pm itll get postponed again, lol
That note has been up for an hour or so. I also find it curious that there is yet another update that just came down
Cool donât care
Just downloaded a 150mb patch. We may be getting close.
They just extended it another 2 hours
just saw the battle.net updater showing server maint until friday and check twitter for updates. wow.
They never said they would do anything. They set, like always, an ETA, which is an estimate.
This isnât really one of those situations. Yes weâre the customer, but we also sign a T&A that acknowledges this happens. Theyâll also probably give everyone a day on their subs. They usually do when itâs delayed this much.
Yet you replied
yeah they should be more transparent with it, because we are conditioned to accept the extensions on maintenance. People can cope with their responses of âGet a job, a hobby, a relationship besides WoW, lol like meâ to make themselves feel like a better person, but the reality is itâs actually not right and people donât expect much from Blizzard anymore.
Actually an estimate is a âwe will do Xâ (or at least try), they never seem to try that hard but ok you win that argument :). On another note, good chat and differing opinions are a good thing so thanx for actually talking and not just being rude for no reasonâŚrefreshing
Yuh and? Just stating I donât care if itâs extended cause this happens in many games extremely often itâs a complete nothing burger that op is trying to make a big deal over, just wants to get people angry and riled up over something that was inevitable.
I think Cata had one nearly that long, but that was so long ago that my memory is fuzzy. At any rate, jokes aside, itâs going to take as long as it takes.
Same to you!
I know itâs frustrating, patch days, especially pre-expansion ones, are exciting. But itâll pass :).
Weâll all be on tomorrow playing around, and this will be a drop of a drop in the bucket.
Put a good tv show on and itâll be here before you know it!
Come on! They customer has never been right in teh entire history of humanity
Tell that to Michael Douglas in falling down.
so you arenât saying anything. you are saying you are completely neutral with the servers being down. cool,
