Direct donations are a thing, you know that right? When you give money to say Blizzard to give to lets say Ronald McDonald House you actually are helping Blizzard AND RMHC. Blizz gets a tax write off for their(your) monetary donation while RMHC receives the donation. If you are talking about that fake charity meme that circulates the internet that blasts various 501c3 companies like Red Cross and March of Dimes well then thats fake.
