Never said it wasn’t, my point was if his weapon was trash, it would be an upgrade for both and thus a fair roll. Unless he cussed you out and said “WARRIOR WEAPON!!!” or something like that.
Most times hunters need weapons, it is an upgrade for them as well. But they are shunned. And warriors get a free pass?
Feel free to shun them if you wish.
In the sense that warriors may often find upgrades that seem to be designed for other classes, yes I would agree that warriors are filling the role of that old hunter stereotype. It’s not just weapons by the way, there is a lot of good mail and leather armor for warriors too.
But there is a key difference in regards to staves – warriors are not carrying those weapons as stat sticks, but rather as a true melee DPS upgrade. The fact that the weapon gives +int instead of +str is significantly less important than the weapon damage for warrior DPS.
That sucks but, hey, #nochanges, right? As long as the staff is slow and hits hard, it’s a good 2H weapon for warriors.
Every class has its idiots or selfish players. Every dungeon I’ve been in has had dreadful players which have no idea how to play, or selfish people taking loot they shouldn’t. My logic is, don’t dwell on it, keep moving, get to 60. Most of these awful players have no future. Also, in the long run, leveling will be but a tiny minority of your total play time. Depending on how long you stick around raiding, it’ll turn out to be <1-10%. Worry about stuff at 60 that actually has long term value. Until you reach maraudon and BRD, nothing has any value at 60.
I don’t know. You guys are complaining about not finding tanks. This mace is huge DPS upgrade for a warrior and slightly a rogue.
Well your fury/prot tank is going to take this as a favor for you letting him tank for you.
Warriors should get whatever they want as you need a tank.
Lol. I wrote down his name and I’m never healing for him ever again. He can keep his favor. Btw, after I left the AoE farm group he was tanking, they spammed LFM for a healer for 15 mins then the group broke. So much for healers needing tanks and tanks not needing healers.
Not sure whether this will be ideal for a tank. It’s good DPS but slow, which hinders rage generation
that’s not a warrior weapon… if a warrior in your group needed on that they’re a selfish jerk.
I’m not sure if a Fury warrior would want it, all I know is as arms/tank it would be meh for me and if there was a priest/rogue in the party it would be all theirs.
it’s a team game… we’re meant to be cooperative. not, i’m more important, so i get all the shinies. doesn’t work like that… or it shouldn’t at least.
on that note, i had a guildie help me make a couple taunt macro’s that will switch stances and taunt, switch stances back… so I think i’m going to finally give tanking a real try today.
This thing makes the game irrelevant, my shaman just staff whacks things and their health goes missing.
Illusionary rod would have been a +50% dps increase over my current 2h weapon with almost 75% the topend damage due to the 3.4 speed.
Before Every one gets triggered, I passed to our clothies, but I can’t even begin to explain how much bigger of an upgrade this would be over a caster getting +150 mana/0.17% crit (ignoring stamina since this is arguably a better stat for warriors). I would be killing mobs probably 60% faster vs expanding their mana pool by 2%.
If you can’t see the difference between gear dependent melee classes who use a weapon for all of their ability damage, and classes that use weapons as stat sticks you’re being purposefully obtuse. I’ll assume you’ve never played a melee class.
I used hypnotic blade up through ZF…lol
Every class does this to some extent. Shamans and Druids will roll on cloth gear, Hunters will roll on everything. It’s just the nature of the game and how itemization works.
With that being said: anyone worth grouping with will ask before rolling on that. Even if it was an upgrade for me, I would still ask my party if that was okay to roll on. It’s just common courtesy.
Yeah, this is actually why I love Classic WoW. There’s all these unique and obscure tricks you can find to min/max your toon.
It’s actually a solid 1-hander for warriors even without useful stats.
I’d never take it over a more needing class, but it’s better than what I have right now.
Yeah as a healer I would definitely be angry if a warrior takes a spirit/int weapon but I think there’s a good argument that if the warrior’s current weapon is trash then pure weapon level and weapon DPS probably makes it an even bigger upgrade to the warrior than whatever a few extra points of int or spirit I’d get as a healer from the upgrade, weapons for casters are stat sticks after all.
It’s kind of the same argument against hunters taking a melee weapon that someone else needs, it’s only a stat stick for the hunter while the melee attacker would make a use of the weapon damage itself.
But yeah I’d still be mad regardless…
Can we move this comment over the 1000 post thread crucifying a hunter for taking cruel barb when there was a rogue in the group? Leveling gear is inherently replaceable. If we’re talking about a sub-50 item and it’s enough of an upgrade that you’re going to equip it, role need. End of story.
