I disagree they are the hardest class to level. Gear dependent sure. But my warrior both kills things faster and recovers more quickly than any caster class.
The biggest disadvantage to playing a warrior is the lack of speed, so many classes get speed boosts in their 20s and 30s, warriors get nothing until their mount.
