Warrior tanks

My MT, which is who I’ve been talking about this whole time, is doing just fine.

Evidently, he knows what he’s doing.

oh so your MT doesn’t say anything here, but you are yelling on his behalf, and think you have better understanding than us, who are actually also main tanks ?

Already did that in another thread for another warrior wondering about the mysteries of a deep prot warrior having threat, for educational purposes.

(I’ve since edited the post because we keep our logs generally private- we’re not here to impress and it’s just an avenue for harassment by edgelord teen forum mongoloids, but he’s not responded since he was given the link to the log, so we’ll see what he comes back with, eventually. If Anything)

He has better things to do than tell morons how to play their class.

I personally enjoy it, kinda like intellectual junk food. (Is it healthy? No, not really, but it’s hilarious.)

lol why do you think he is better than us when he is just as a mediocre main tank like anybody else? Has he achived anything big like 99% parses or is he doing gray parses like you?

Posting on an alt, references logs he’s posted before, but has now removed them when they come under scrutiny. I’m just trying to verify what you’re saying and understand, because warrior threat is low, there is no doubt. If you guys have some secret sauce, share it with us.

Good attempt at goading, but we’re blue/purple/orange parses depending on the fight.

(So far only 1 pink one, but we started a bit behind the gear having to do the raid with 8 and 9 people for 4 lockouts)

log link please. but your blue/purple/orange parses smell like a mediocre dude to me ngl.

Guild parses well, but its private for… reasons.

The main problem is this dude doesn’t play tank but he thinks he knows better than others just because he “talks to a mediocre tank”

As I said, already did it for someone else because they genuinely wanted to know, and it seems they’re still reviewing it.

Not opening it up again for forum degens who don’t actually want to know and just want to make bad faith excuses and pick apart to protect their ego. (You kinda played your hand when you told me I was just impossible to talk to because I don’t listen, while also thinking I was the tank because you didn’t read in the first place.)

You dismissed me before you started, so you’re just going to have to sit on not having logs to harass people over.

Should change your name to Backpedalwolf.

lol, you are arguing about a topic with the info that you heard from someone, who is nowhere better than others (besides “oh I said so”). Do you think others would take your words serious just because of “oh he said so”? On the other hands, people have acknowledged that warrior has the trashiest dmg and threat. I think you should stop listening to your tank at this point and try to learn how to do a research yourself.

Then why even bother with all this? Seems unhealthy to come here, call others bad, and not actually share the information, I’m sure you get some dopamine rush from it, but at the end of the day its just weird.

Prot warrior has low threat, as reported by almost every warrior.

  1. Rage is hard to come by, 1handed weapons generating rage against bosses with massive armor amounts is currently a joke and it affects warriors disproportionately. Other classes don’t have to consider this at all, they have an on-demand resource and runes to support regenerating it. Rage pots and consumes are not the answer, especially with a boss that resets threat (3) times, other classes don’t have to worry about this at all.

  2. Warrior tank has almost no runes to increase their threat, no new abilities… really, like what runes are exciting for a prot warrior, I’ll wait. Why is that ok?

  3. Warrior tank along with paladin can be crit/crushed, there is not gear to overcome this, and any attempt too would be a massive sacrifice in throughput.

  4. SoD should be fun new takes on class design and abilities. Sod Should be exciting.

Do you disagree with these statements?

Yes, and the double nerfs (consumed by rage and devastate normalization) also heavily affect us. Prot war is scapegoated by phase 1 dps warriors.

at this point it’s pointless to argue with him dude. he doesn’t even experience it firsthand. i tried 5 different builds for gnomer, sweeping strike arms, fury prot defiance, full blood thirst fury, fury prot max mitigation, and deep shield slam prot, i would say the best build right now is fury prot defiance for bosses, considering rage is way easier to manage and sweeping strike for trashmob tanking. I might be coping but i am still looking for the perfect tank build right now.

I did share the information with someone who genuinely wanted to know what our MT was doing to keep threat from Melee Hunters/Warlocks, and RB Shamans. I’m pretty guarded with identifiable information and took a risk as it seemed he genuinely wanted to know.

It has been made abundantly clear that desire for information is not present here, just ammunition for bad faith arguments…

He starts with a Rage pot if he doesn’t have a rage mob to beat up on.
Most of his ongoing rage comes from getting hit/blocking, according to him.

Why don’t you use Devastate and Furious Thunder?
And Shield slam didn’t need replaced…

This is one I’ll actually give the warriors kinda, not having some crit reduction freebee like the bears/locks/shamans is a bit silly. But they do have shield block which is not something the other tanks have. I haven’t heard our healers complain, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue.

OR, since every other tank gets a massive threat increase…just boost Defensive Stance threat to be in line with Shaman tanks. Tank’s job isn’t to do damage, it’s to hold threat. We need to get out of the ‘damage tank bis’ meta and increase threat for defensive tanks. What’s even the point of the Prot tree otherwise?

Agree 100%

I’m pretty sure the other classes got threat boosts because they don’t have
Heroic Strike
Sunder/Devastate
Shieldslam
Revenge
Defensive Stance (30% additional overall threat)
And Furious Thunder did do a large threat increase.

Shamans natively only have one specific threat increase ability (ES), and one passive threat increase ability. (RB)
They were given Molten Blast to act like Thunderclap

Not sure what locks were given as I don’t play them, just that Searing Pain (native threat increase) was made instant.

Your tank lost threat 1minute into the fight yesterday with Spirit of the Alpha and Rage Pot…

I won’t share them to respect your privacy, but come on, after all of that? You were the one that pulled threat, again, 1minute into a single target fight.

You come into a warrior post where Kopp (OP), outlines some reasonable well written thoughts on the state of warrior and change suggestions. He is very polite, he is not complaining. You however, immediately say, ‘it must be a you problem, our tank doesn’t have issues and therefore everyone else is wrong.’

When asked to back this up with logs, you won’t. when I find them I can see the threat, he holds it for some fights… but the dps is not all purples and blues like you claimed.
There is no mage, and people are still pulling aggro.

Your buddy can benefit from everything these guys want, which is simply just to be on par with the other classes. Adding a threat modifier or rage increase would not affect the balance of the game at all, its incredibly reasonable.

Get off your high-horse, please. The suggestions by OP are just that, suggestions, if you have reasonable feedback or ideas, share them, but there was no need for any of this.
