Warrior Runes are Lame

I have 4 25s, and warrior had the most fun combat loop. I was actually disappointed when my warrior got the gear he needed, it meant I had nothing else to attack. I think the most thought was put into the warrior rotation (of the classes I played). It just felt more refined

Those three runes you just listed are awesome.

Warrior runes don’t need to be super OP like some of the other classes because warriors are already the best class in the game.

We don’t need more power we need more utility, which is what we’re getting.

warrior runes and the class overall are kind of 2nd tier class to wow/sod.

the runes alone are pretty lack luster and are nothing more then abilities from other xpacs giving to us as runes in sod…lol. warbringer is a 100% must or your a free kill to almost every other class in wow. warbringer should not cost 25+g while your the same level… any other classes have something similar for that much gold?

whats up with the taste for blood rune? a cool ability that was added mid wrath because warriors were so weak/broken they needed a class redo mid xpac… that was wrath were you sit battle stance mostly and this is classic sod where one would sit zker stance most often. stance dancing alone would not make taste for blood rune “feel good” that much more stance dancing every time t4b rune procs would be punishing. like i said the rest of our runes are just abilities from other x-pacs giving to us as weak/middle strength runes.

other classes have gotten complete brand new abilities like WINDfury or the ability to now tank or be a healer!but warriors?nothing changed other then runes and ours are weak. i see abilities taking off global for some classes and that changes the game play/feel of the class. why cant warriors get some of the same? something like arms can block with a 2 hander?why not?

how about Mortal Strike now heals the warrior for X percent of damage done,why not?think death strike for dks… make MS stronger so players want to spec into it!as of right now in P2 of sod i think alot will go 26 into arms and 5 into fury for +5 cruelty skipping MS. or maybe warrior bleeds now heal the warrior for X percent of damage done? some new things need to be added for game play reasons and warrior are still hardest to level… do something other then give us runes…

im also disappointment with the new gear added some items were buff for other classes or new items added but warriors got short end again. im not seeing any new slow 2 hander’s why?wheres the new say 3.80 speed axe or sword?yeah i know a 2 handed mace was added for “pvp rewards” but mace spec is bad compared to sword or axe spec for arms. our bis weapon is the 2 handed axe for the new gnome raid right?thats 3.30 speed, why so fast? i just feel with all the new gear and items added for others warriors could have gotten some nice new slow 3.80-4.00 2 handed axes or swords. or a buffed whirlwind axe?

warriors do great damage and we still can be killer tanks but so can other classes. but unlike other classes you take away that great damage and warriors bring little to nothing to the table. try some new things for warriors like other classes are getting treated to, doing great damage should really not be why we dont. if locks can tank and have an op drain life why cant MS or warrior bleeds heal us?SOD is like one big test realm try something new with warriors.

I’d like a warrior augmentation style spec based around shouting. We can call it drill instructor. Yell at your team til they dps better, and have it work for once unlike over voice chat.

I’ve been saying this since 2 weeks after SoD dropped… So If you really want a challenge with these runes try a duel wielding fist weapons warrior… and you’ll see how poorly these runes function… However I did start a new warrior 3 hours ago just to check out the crate situation.

Just made it to level 11 and… again the rune system does not offer my duel wielding fist warrior ANY benefit to my playing style. The rune system is not set up to be a universal balance type system that allows a warrior to use ANY weapons. Therefore I’m out of Season of Discovery… Permanently.

I want gladiator stance. I want shattering throw. I want PvP stuff in general. What are we getting? Slam. All of the focus is on parsing in sub 60 leveling dungeons. Warbringer being the exception, but it should have been base line to charge in combat to begin with.

well i agree that they are boring all of the p2 runes are basically just a rehash of tbc/wrath abilities.

but with that said i suspect blood surge will make warriors dps machines again.

here’s the story:
the 2h spec for warriors was to have (runes here are listed as the were)
quick strike - instant 2h weapon attack that benefits from and causes all the same effects as heroic strike
consumed by rage - when warrior passes 80 rage warrior becomes enraged doing 20% more damage
raging blow - instant attack that does weapon damage with 8 second cool down, but can only be used while warrior is enraged.

the rotation was get above 80 rage cast raging blow on cool down and quick strike to drop just below 80 rage…as the warrior dances just above and just under 80 rage he is permanently enraged allowing the cd of raging blow to be the only limitation of raging blow.

with phase 2 consumed by rage was nerfed to only do 10% damage and raging blow nerfed to do 80% of weapon damage…doesn’t matter don’t need 'em because phase 2 brings blood surge.

blood surge - blood thirst, whirl wind, and heroic strike can proc a free, instant, slam 30% chance

warriors can drop raging blow and consumed by rage for flagulation 25% damage buff that can be up more than 50% of the time, and drop consumed by rage for frenzied assault. now slam can easily take the place of raging blow being an instant attack that does 100% weapon damage + a little bit extra. warriors will again be spamming quick strike and using slam every time blood surge procs, but with a 30% proc chance and no CD it should proc way more often than the 1 every 8 seconds raging blow was limited to.

Warriors getting a bunch of very boring but very powerful passive damage runes rather than interesting new abilities or playstyles, is probably one of the more puzzling decisions of SoD.

We have tanking Rogues, Warlocks and Shamans. Healing Mages. Melee Hunters. Support for dual wield and 2h Enh Shaman. Shockadin stuff. Druids actually having more than one spec.

Warriors? More damage. Because that’s what they needed i guess?

for sure one thing i would’ve have liked to have seen for warriors would’ve been a rune that makes teh bonus damage of heroic strike scale with attack power and give a stacking cost reduction to heroic strike that could have allowed for a meta where fury warriors want the fastest possible weapons which would be different and i have always enjoyed dual weilding fast weapons and seeing all the numbers come up, but it’s never been a smart play
