I get that warriors aren’t really a focus in SoD, but these runes just straight up suck. I don’t mean they perform badly, they’re just boring. Enrage regen, commanding shout, and intervene? Feels super meh. Zero effort was made to generate something worth discovering.

I disagree - Consumed by Rage gives warrior dps a bit more depth than what we bad before in classic. I’m looking forward to Taste for Blood and Wrecking Crew

Depth? It changed nothing to our playstyle. Most runes changed nothing. A bunch of lame passive crap. Devastate? Spam one button into oblivion. Provided you’re the MT and not OT.
How about a combat medic? Angry healer.

You haven’t played Warrior before have you? Before it was about pooling rage and then spending it on burst phases. With Consumed by Rage that changed it to an optimization dance above and below 80 rage to make maximum use of it
That aside though, yeah our phase 2 runes are pretty boring. The only “real” choice for fury on our belt is Blood Surge, and Slam just sucks to use…

I’m not looking for an entire playstyle change, just a bit more than what we originally had in vanilla warrior. SoD delivers on that. Needing to constantly ping pong above and below 80 rage in order to use Raging Blow is a lot more fun than what we had originally

It’s a 12 second timer. You’re not exactly on some rapid or game altering thing you need to watch that closely like an aff lock. The runes suck. You mentioned 1/12 runes, cause we got one rune that’s kinda somewhat okay but still pretty meh. It’s garbage, and they should do better. But yal complacent so it will just be more crap
I mentioned 2 runes - Consumed by Rage and Raging Blow. I’m also enjoying Quick Strike. It’s so much more enjoyable than Heroic Strike.
My only complaint about Quick Strike is that I think its going to be useless when we get access to MS. I’ll probably switch out to Endless Rage at that point.
I agree that warrior runes in phase 2 are a little underwhelming, but when we get access to Wrecking Crew and Taste for Blood in the next phase its going to be very enjoyable.

Your comments make it feel like you haven’t actually played a warrior at any point before or after SOD.
For DPS, the synergy of Consumed by Rage, Raging Blow, and Quick Strike creates a very different playstyle than before, particularly in raid content. You still have to pay attention with the 12 second timer because sometimes you are generating rage faster than you can dump it and need to add a heroic strike to your QS to get below 80. You don’t have to like that dance, but many of us are quite enjoying the interactions of those runes.
I can’t speak to the runes being used for tanking, but the three best runes for 2 handed DPS all synergized and made for a fun experience in phase 1.

Nah, mained warrior since actual vanilla with over 400 days played. We got shafted. I said from the the start that it’s not that they perform badly, just that the options suck and give no desire to play.

Anything other than the boring baseline skills that have been out for 18 years that literally no one has ever taken because they want to. Commanding shout? Enraged regen? Intervene? Really? I wasn’t even excited for intervene when it was brand new.

Sounds like a “you” problem to me.
I haven’t heard anyone else making these complaints and they don’t resonate with me at all.
I love Consumed By Rage, my favorite rune in the game to be totally honest

Warrior in Vanilla is like playing a Wrath of the Litch king class for any other class. That is how far ahead Warrior actually is Vs any other class in WoW vanilla or TBC.
Its the worst. It reminds me of being arms in black temple instead of staring at a swing timer i am staring at a rage bar. It might be fun for a sevond but you are going to be watching that rage bar until the end of the season.
