So what macros can I set up? Thanks
You will not always reach the target when you charge. You can be poly/scatter shot/stunned etc mid charge.
Even more likely if you have a slow on you, since vanilla does not suppress movement slows.
I know I have sapped and blinded warriors mid charge, its strange how the mechanic works, is it suppose to have a variable stun like that? Mine always appears to have 1 sec of stun when I land on the target, and the only times I dont end up on target is when I get CC’d mid charge.
Charge and intercept have different stun durations. Charge is one second, intercept is 3. Be sure of which one you are talking about.
In addition, they are subject to diminishing returns of stun duration so it’s quite easy to get variable lengths.
I have been observing my own charge stun, and what I am talking about is, well,
What he said appears to be true, I thought they were doing something with talents or items or whatever but watching the target, soon as charge activates they are stunned until I get to the target +1 sec. I dont recall it working like this in vanilla, but maybe I remember it wrong?
I dont remember too well exactly. I know I used to overshoot/undershoot my targets and land out of melee range A LOT on Vanilla when I had a slow on me.
So it cant be exactly travel time + x. Theres something else at play there.
I don’t think the charge mechanic they are using for Classic is the same as the charge mechanic they were using in vanilla. I had an alt warrior in vanilla and a lot of the time if there was any kind of an obstacle I would never make it to the target, but in this game I can charge 800 yards around fences and some really strange things. What I cant remember for sure is if it stuned for the duration of charge +1 sec, I thought it was just 1 sec flat and anything after well… NOPE, but I may be wrong because vanilla had some wacky stuff.
This 100%
I tested for hours and could not recreate it. I am leaning strongly toward lag spikes on my end or server lag or these people are cheating. 1 of 3.
Depends on talents and what you want to do.
intercept? my charge tooltip says 1 sec
intercept is 3
Its a glass cannon build. Its low on survivability but drops the boom super fast.
Been trying it out, and its very strong when played with a good disc priest.
I hope not,
Here is one more to try out if you just want to be op. /talent-calc/warlock/05002-20503031325010512-50500001
What is going on in this thread…
You cannot bypass the GCD except one way: Queuing one (1) instant-cast spell at the end of a spell with cast time. So you can immolate, and then cast Corruption right as Immolate finishes, and both dots will apply at the same time. The reason this is possible is because the GCD triggered by Immolate finishes while the spell is still casting.
You cannot skip the GCD any other way. You cannot cast Agony and Corruption at the same time.
Amplify Curse is not on the GCD.
Myself and the OP have ran into warlocks that have insta casted all dots in 1 gcd. I was trying to recreate it and been unable to. This has happened on multiple occasions to both of us. I personally have racked it up to lag/server lag or a cheat.
That the only conclusion I can come up with because try as I might I can’t get 3GCD into 1. Wish I could but it’s beyond my powa!
I suspect that a video of the incident would prove otherwise.
Next play session I’ll fire up OBS and see if I can find that same lock again, it’s the same guy every time. I can’t say for sure that it’s in a single global but let’s put it this way. He had his pet sac’d most likely the succubus and I had assumed my next backstab was going to kill him, cheap shot faded only for maybe a 1/10th of a sec then I kidney’d him.
He was the only lock at the LM, and I instantly had Corruption, syphon life and agony on my character. You would think he would have coiled but didn’t, just full DoT’s and died in the kidney. I nearly died from the dots getting the flag.
It’s not the first time he’s done it too me either, I noticed him doing it a few weeks back and just figured it was 2 or 3 locks, but this time I was sure it’s him because he was the only one there and I’d think a second lock would do something, anything to prevent a flag cap or me eating.
Hmm. I don’t play affliction, but if siphon life has a travel time (i.e. like shadowbolt, immolate, or the like) then depending on distance you could siphon life, smash Corruption, and then agony. If siphon life does have a travel time, and you talent Corruption to 4/5 (giving it a 0.4 sec cast time) you could potentially get off Siphon life, then corruption and Agony (both of which don’t have travel times), and have them all land inside a second. Timing would be tight, but possible.
But as I said, that only works if Siphon Life has a travel time, and I haven’t played Affliction to find out one way or the other.
