Warmode = This

Not turning on warmode ever has affected me 0%, still one of the first people in my guild to cap neck each go.

A lot of hyper focus on “losing out” when it doesn’t amount to all that much, it’s a small bribe to turn on WM, that’s it.

I think what he means is that he believes Warmode should be the default, and if you want to give up PvP you will give up the XP Bonus Warmode awards (which is, right now, +25% if you are an Alliance).

It probably doesn’t, but it’s still not nothing.

Love your weapon mog.

Competing? Against who?
I don’t care that anyone gets more awards for making content that I don’t want to do and you’re just sad because the vast majority of people only do wpvp when they want it and are no longer available anywhere, anytime for the convenience of someone who needs to prove how much better.

I was never disturbed again as I kill some mob on the maps or try to complete some quest where some humorist killed the quest giver.

No, that’s not it at all.

I’m sad because I see a lot of people getting ROFLstomped who are quite obviously going for that 1x extra manapearl, probably because they feel like they have to, and I don’t think their mindset is all that wrong.

… looks like pvp happens when anyone want to do pvp …

Fair enough, I’m exaggerating a little after all. I still stand by it not being a huge difference in the end though.

I suppose it just depends on your outlook. Instead of “Is the glass half empty or full?” it’s “Is WM a bonus or a penalty?”

And thank you, I enjoy my ghost fish.

Neither one nor the other.
is optional content.
More risks? More awards. And more laborious.
Less risk? Fewer prizes. And less exhausting.

Playing without War Mode doesn’t mean -10% rewards. Playing non War Mode just means you get baseline rewards.

You get an extra 10% if you are in War Mode. There’s no penalty. You either like playing in a world filled with danger or you don’t. It adds a layer of difficulty, and as such, you’ll get rewarded for doing something that’s more difficult.

Just what the blood elf said.

Well yeah it’s pretty much questing becomes situational, but the price is good to an extent. Unfortunately due to no essence account bound and horrid class balances. The appeal to it goes -2. 6/10

The math is actually 1 / 1.1, not 9 / 10. It would be a 9.09% reduction.

If you drop the incentive for World PvP then you probably just won’t have enough people to create a World PvP environment.

This game has had reasons to do World PvP for how long (in the context of actual rewards besides just “PvP”)? The only truly rewardless World PvP activity is ganking.

Horde calling out for more warmode. Lol

It’s always Horde asking for more because Alliance have to be so heavily bribed just to turn it on.

The imbalance leaves Horde feeling cozy in all but NA RP and Oceanic shards.

A lot of alliance turn on wm to do the quest real quick and then turn it off as soon as they’re done.

I mostly leave it on all the time because why not, it’s never that inconveniencing. I also appreciate it’s just a choice for people now because there were definitely times in Legion doing overworld stuff as like a Priest that I just did not want to deal with trying to PvP at the same time as doing quests.

Even now I still turn it off from time to time if it’s something like the Kill 3 Rares in Mechagon and there are just seemingly no Alliance anywhere and I just want it done.

Yeah I don’t know what they were thinking. They should have either merged pvp and pve servers (separately), or done a PvE Shard range and PvP Shard range that are separated by the PvE/PvP servers. That way there could still be a sense of world pve/pvp servers.
In order to do it now they’d have to allow people to choose pvp or pve server options all over again for each character. I don’t think they can fix it at this point, unfortunately, since there are no labeled servers when creating a new character.
Edit: Another option they could consider is “channels” for pvp, pve, rp, etc… maybe… but there would still be kinks to work out in that too.
Warmode has honestly killed world PvP, it is not better than the system way back. People try to blame Flying lately, but its been around since BC and BC had fine world pvp.

I think it’s hilarious when people call Warmode “hard”. It’s not hard at all. There is no difficulty change, except you might run into hostile players. But often times you won’t.

And those who claim the bonus is there to help make up for the “time lost” PvPing: if it was there to help balance it, you’d only get a bonus after you engaged in PvP that you did not initiate.

Warmode is kinda a joke, really. People should enable it because they want to PvP, not because they get a nice little bribe. And if you say “I have it enabled and I like PvP!” then you should be just fine without any extra rewards, because you’re doing what you like.

But you’re not. You’re just not earning the bonus WM offers. Unless you can go back and see how much XP or time was needed to level in previous expansions before WM, can you really say you’re being penalized?
