What bothers me about this is Alliance is blatantly abusing this for the rewards and then turning warmode right back off. I don’t think i’d mind the bribe so much, or the massive raids of Alliance, if that meant there was actually someone to fight the rest of the week. On my server, Alliance farm the quests Tuesday and Wednesday night, Sometimes Monday right before reset for the slackers, in massive groups, and the rest of the time you never see ANY Alliance.
If Blizzard really wants to bribe Alliance, fine, just make Warmode a weekly choice. Sign up? Get all your rewards. No turning it off till next week when you first login. Don’t? No rewards for you.
I’ve been able to do them even with a ton of allys camping around. However, the only thing I think is dumb is that they have 30% more rewards than us and get free gear every week for being “out numbered”
Still doesn’t change my point though. If you don’t want the full World PvP experience, then people should just turn off warmode. We shouldn’t even have warmode to begin with. It just brought all the things people complain about on PvP realms to the entire playerbase. Which with all the posts about it, people just can’t handle. If you want a fair pvp experience, again…
The problem with Warmode isn’t WM per se, its sharding. The software seems incapable of properly balancing the numbers. So if you are in a shard with 20 other Horde and 20 Alliance, and suddenly a 40m group arrives, this indicates that the sharding mechanism is screwed. Because it shouldn’t happen. There should never be an imbalance if the shard mechanism is working correctly.
But obviously it isn’t. And of all the things in BfA that have failed to function as they should, this is one of the most depressing. I had hoped that WM would be the saving of PvP but if it keeps on going as it is, it will end up being no better than the old system because imbalances will continue and will grow worse.
The Q&A sessions really need to address this, to tell us why this imbalance is occurring, what can be done to fix it, and will it ever be fixed. Because it seems they are simply ignoring the whole issue and perhaps hoping it will go away.
But I like war mode minus the flight path camping and sharding. If you think the entire system shouldn’t have been introduced in the first place then why do you care about how it changes.
Because all it’s doing is digging a hole even further into the ground. The point of World PvP is that the odds are now all over the place. One moment you can find yourself surrounded by the enemy faction and always having to be on your toes, or you can find that your faction has rallied together to complete whatever objective and kill anyone that gets in their way.
What you are asking for is a fair engagement in a setting that’s not meant to be fair.
Yea, they really decimated the community feel across all aspects of the game. I too miss the days of guild camaraderie and the great rivalries with the top PvP guilds on the other side.
Rofl. You think this is wPvP? Giant raids of either factions just absolute ganking everyone.
It hasn’t been this bad since vanilla before bg’s existed.
It was always a gankfest of higher levels or multiple players … but this is flat out raids of 20+ people because the “shard balance” is garbage. Just CRZ’ing everyone into the most lop-sided servers since the server’s themselves naturally aligned themselves to a faction.
All the while lagging to high hell when you get a fight with anything more than 20 people on both sides. But remember! It’s our computers. Not the servers themselves…
I will never turn WM back on until they fix the part of it that matters, the fight. If you cannot fight due to whatever than there is no point having it on.
I worked out the maths from it the other week and even if you gave me a 1000% bonus to everything I gained from a WQ it would make no difference, you cannot get a bonus when you cannot complete content.
Yes Alliance, you all say we ganked you over and over and you are wrong, we out numbered you until you got a better bonus to fight back.
But being able to finish content vs. getting nothing done is a completely different matter. So I just turn it off and forget it, I would rather lose the 10% bonus than get nothing done.
I’ve been doing incursions in war mode on both factions, and when playing as Horde it’s quick and easy because I’m surrounded by hordies without an Alliance in sight - at least none that live for long.
When playing as Alliance it takes forever to get the quests done because I’m again surrounded by hordies and no Alliance are living long.
So cheer up Horde, even without the added bonus, you still get far more rewards per hour than Alliance do.
