I’ve spent my entire WoW experience on PVP servers. Even going as far as to not create characters on PVE servers at all. This is Warcraft after all.
Having said that, turning off War Mode to do world quests and not get perma-ganked as alliance is one of the nicest experiences I’ve had in a while.
lol
I feel like a traitor but seeing those dark orange horde nameplates swarm me and knowing there’s nothing they can do to interrupt my questing is pretty amazing.

The dark orange Horde you see also have WM off and have no intention of hindering you …lol

I rolled my Vanilla characters on a PvP server and I learned 14 years ago that WoW isn’t very fun with world PvP.
I have no intention of ever turning it back on.

I had it on while leveling 3 characters to 120, but turned it off after that to avoid getting slowed down while running WQ’s and gathering.

I just turned it on yesterday, but not because of rewards… just for fun and excitement I guess and to try it out. I haven’t played on a pvp server in a while. Getting killed doesn’t really bother me that much, especially since I’m not trying to level.

I keep it on for all my characters. PvP does not scare me.
I’d turn it on if my friend does.
I turned it off because my friend doesn’t have the patience for it.
I might turn it on for a Horde character if there were some incentive. 10% bonus experience and reputation isn’t an incentive to me. There would have to be a strong incentive for me to participate in an activity that I find is not fun at all.
I would never turn it on for an Alliance character.

I leave it on til the gank squads show up. Then turn it off for a few hours then turn it back on.

I will likely never turn it on.
If it was a friendly little joust it’s one thing… but PvP’ers want to stomp you 10 to 1, tea bag your corpse, spit on you, camp you and chase you around like pimpled teens that were bullied in school and want payback… that takes ALL the fun out of it.
I have better things to do.

I will always keep mines on I must show the Alliance how much I care about them.
Best way to do that is a sword through their heart. That is the greatest kindness we Horde show Alliance.
Heck we help them git gud whenever they want to or not !!!
They might say they dont like it but deep down they do and they want to git gud!!

I’ve never been interested in wpvp so I will never turn it on regardless of the incentives/rewards.

why should I ever turn it on when PVP is no fun and just gives me a headache?

But there are no pvp servers? To a new player all the servers would look the same. I find this quite sad really that they had to change the system like this just to “promote” WM.
It was made because there was no way to “opt-out” of PVP but there was a way to “opt-in” and so it just created an imbalance in player choice.
If you rolled you character 10 years back and now the game has changed in the DECADE you’ve been playing, but now you don’t like how PvP feels then your only options are: start over or pay up.
This now gives you an option to just say “I actually don’t like how PvP feels in WoW”, an option that any non-PvP server player had, but PvP server players, did not.
I had it on while questing, all the sneaking around to avoid bounty groups in vol’dun made the xp buff kinda worthless at that point though, i had some fun in a few 1v1 fights.
I’ll probably level with it again on my monk, and will definitely give leveling my worgen once the 30% buff comes for alliance unless the ganking makes the xp buff redundant.
what i hate about WM is the sharding in groupfinder recruiting, i think there should be a symbol indicating that the lead of a group is in a wm phase and it’d be fine. I usually enjoy the world PvP aspect even though i’m a reactive fighter and don’t go looking for victims.
I’ve started this xpac by puting it on while levelling my main and a couple of alts. But now it’s off and will remain off unless Blizz fix their own bias and start balancing the factions.

Blizz needs to reward participating in combat or dying in warmode to make it worthwhile. 30% quest rewards isnt really worth it. Losing a 5 v 1 that was impossible to win stings my heart more than the fact that I have to do a corpse run and make another attempt to collect 8 bear butts. Much rather keep my ingame self esteem and pride intact. Not really speaking as a carebear but more of a pragmatic assessment of the pros and cons of warmode.
Also you can’t even make a guess if the guy you’re fighting is way stronger than you with 3x impassive visage/resounding barrier at 380 ilvl so you can’t even damage him. Too many times i get into a 1 v 1 that we cant do enough damage to each other for 3 minutes until someone from one of our factions shows up so it can become a 2 v 1 and the fight can finally end. What a waste of time.
