A lot of people are disappointed by the lack of a new class, and with Necromancers being something desired for quite some time, why not enhance the potential of Warlocks? Personally, I feel as though Warlocks, those who crave power through dark magics, being stuck into JUST Demonic oriented power feels a bit flat.
Why not instead allow Warlocks to chose to follow a school of magic? Necromantic or Demonic. The Lore part isn’t a stretch considering Fel is used as a part of death magic and can still hold up for both specs in terms of Destruction and considering Affliction is mostly shadow anyway, Demonology and all spec demon summons could draw inspiration from Deathly units, especially considering the next expansion.
Using some WoW/WC3 Reforged models, I’ll draw inspiration to alternate Undead minions as their Demon counterparts.
Summon Imp ~ Summon Burning Archer
Summon Voidwalker ~ Summon Skeletal Footman
Summon Felhunter ~ Summon Plaguehound
Summon Succubus ~ Summon Shade
Summon Felguard ~ Summon Skeletal Champion
Summon Infernal ~ Summon Abomination
Summon Darkglare ~ Summon Skeletal Magus
Things like Imp Swarm or Bilescourge Bombers could be smaller skeletons or carrion beetles and I feel as though Demonic Tyrant has potential to be something like a Lich or maybe something utilizing a special pact with those boney boys from Maldraxxus.

Or we could just fix unholy DK to be a proper commander of undead armies.

Necromancy is a school of magic, not Fel. You don’t make pacts with the dead. You force them back to life.

As I mentioned above. You also don’t make pacts with most lesser demons, they’re forced into servitude. As well as a lot of Warlock spells like Drain Life or Siphon Life, or the Scourge being created by the Legion and using a lot of Fel Magic coupled with Necromancy because it’s just vile magic used by the power hungry to further their goals.
Warlocks are just Male witches def should not be a necro

Warlocks aren’t Necro’s though, two totally separate magicians. Dk’s are though.

I’m not necessarily opposed. Warlocks are less defined by spell choice than they are by ethos (that ethos being power at all costs). To that end, they stole spells from the various expansion enemies, including Twilight’s Hammer, from the elemental plane of Fire, and from Illidan leading up to MoP. In that light, the absence of any spells taken from the Lich King and the Cult of the Damned is…strange.

Thank you for contributing absolutely nothing logical to the conversation.
What are you looking for its right here.
While i don’t beleive they should have a necro spec i will not be opposed to them having a class skin to turn they’re spells necromancer themed.
Class Skins would have been a decent compromise but it doesn’t seem like that’s happening either.

Warlocks and necromancers are separate, Locks are demon power, they destroy not reanimate. On that note they can give locks possession abilities that’d be cool.
It’s a shame when people playing the class fail to understand what we’re about. Power is our goal, and how we get that power is irrelevant. If it means summoning a legion of undead then so be it. The only reason we don’t is because demons are more powerful (they’re the ones who created the undead in the first place) which is why, if they’re not going to give us a proper Necromancer class, then they at least should implement the “Class skin” idea.

I’d dig a glyph that let Demonology summon undead instead of demons.
I wanted necromancer more because i wanted an “evil healer” spec that wasn’t the weird shadow stuff from Legion Discipline. I felt the reworks of Fistweaving and Atonement and removal of Touch of Cenarius really opened a niche for a straightforward “attack to heal” spec.
But failing all that, yeah sure throw it on Warlock.

Warlocks, necromancer, mage, wizard, druid, dryad, shaman all things blizz didn’t make. Locks focus on demons. Necros focus death.
What a singular mindset you have.
Let’s just combine all caster specs and abilities lore and themes then name it warlock.
Unholy Deathknights already have a necromantic focus. All they need is tweaking to some abilities to allow them to field a larger, more consistent army of undead minions instead of everything being stuck on long cooldowns.
I see absolutely no reason to add a necromancer class, or a necromancer skin to warlocks, when we already have a class that is literally designed around necromancy and raising the dead.
Warlocks do not traditionally use any kind of necromany in rpgs.
