Warlock pet summons increased to 6 sec cast time

So, with my extremely limited knowledge of pvp (look at my arena track record, low CR and I still suck), this seems like a hard hit for destro in pvp. Curse of tongues looks great, demonic circle looks great too, but that unending resolve nerf seems horrible. From what I’ve heard one of warlock’s old niches was it’s self heal, but virtually every DPS has self heal now, and some have insane self heal. So, with that defensive nerf, big ouch.

And what they’ll get is everyone running Grimoire of Sac

Roaring blaze is a fine choice in many situations

As for anyone wondering about Unending Resolve:

Rank 1 is the 20%

Rank 2 is 40% + Immunities

Makes sense. I kinda forgot about the ranking system while leveling. And at first glance it totally looked like they just inserted it as a new spell without the rank 2 benefits.

Fixing the compilation thread now

Blizzard should really consider giving instanced PvP it’s own separate balancing changes, sort of like how SC2 has campaign stats vs skirmish stats. I’m tired of being nerfed because of PvP, which I don’t even play.

Pet summoning cast times is usually just a nuisance in PvE, but sometimes it’ll be a very serious nerf. The obvious one is swapping to Felhound for an interrupt or something similar, but it’s also a serious problem in soloing. Soloing 5 mask visions as Demo, my felfuard died a lot, even just to normal pulls, and a lot of my fails have been from felguard dieing and me being unable to resummon it in time to finish something off or stun something. A 6 second cast time means I might as well not even bother trying that, it’s way too long, and is a slap in the face to Demo in particular, who is very reliabt on having a Felguard out. I guarantee Torghast will have the same issues for Felguard.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this ends up sticking, Demonology ends up with a talent or something baked into a passive giving us our current summoning cast time.

As per Kalamazi’s video, apparently in Torghast (which is end-game gameplay), you get an in-torghast ability that makes your summons instant.

Just in an instance? I sure hope that’s not it.

They still haven’t given demo a kick, I doubt it’s going to get special treatment here either.

It’s impossible to protect your pet on PVP, they literally have almost no health, no defensive CDS and now take 6 seconds to summon?

Not to talk about Demonology having talents literally linked to Pet being out?

this change is the most stupid, unresonable and awfull change ever made by Blizzard.

Hope we still won’t have to summon our pet first thing during the m+ countdown!!

Yea forget playing a caster. Rezzing my pets frequently, dying while I am rezzing them and having no baseline interrupts I would be crazy to play one. I do not understand the desire to make this so much worse. Is it so that when they eventually revert it they can claim they listened to feedback while polluting the destro and demo rotation with low impact spells that will serve as clunk instead of engaging interactions.

I want to enjoy playing my class in all content not just raiding.

I love how hunters are complaining, we have to use a soul shard so we even at a larger loss…

As a bm hunter main I feel your pain Boys. This change to 6 seconds is trash. Sorry locks sorry hunters u get the shaft this time as if bm didn’t already have the shaft in pvp. Lol hunters complaining because our defensives and damage tied to our pet. And it does super fast

I just think they are trying to make sacrifice a competing talent to take here. Won’t have to worry about it if the pet is already gone and you have the special ability.

then you perceive that there is a spec both in hunter and warlock who are focused around pet damage and said pets deal from 20 to 30% of the dps of said specs and on the warlock case even has talents locked on the pet being actually alive…

if they were smart they’d just base the cast time on whether you’re in combat or not, and obviously keep it very low for non-combat situations for convenience.
