Which is more fun and why? Just game play style, not performance.

And will we see Hogger in SL?

Warlock.

Infinitely cooler, better mogs and three very different playstyles.

Actually good performance wise too. Especially Affliction.

Of all six specs?

I rank them:

  1. Arcane
  2. Destro = Fire
  3. Demonology
  4. Frost
  5. Affliction

Of course, this is just my opinion. And I haven’t played Affliction nearly as much as the other five so I just haven’t had many good experiences with it yet.

It should be even lower, that spec is downright terrible the moment you add multiple enemies, its just not fun to play when that happens.

And due to the way the spec is designed in the first place, it makes it terrible for M+

I actually kinda agree with this, though I still slightly prefer Destro, particularly with the green fire. :grin:

I found Warlock great at low levels and unbelievably boring at high levels. But, to each his own.

If you want to Raid and RBG, go warlock
If you want to get glad in arena and get mythic+ invites go mage…

Go mage or boomkin. Best casters in the game at everything. Wanted in everything

Mages send people away (portals)
Warlocks want you around (summon stone)

Mages only teleport themselves (blink)
Warlocks will teleport anyone in group (demonic gateway)

Mages will just let you lay dead on the floor (no battle rez)
Warlocks will pick you back up (soulstone)

Mages give you food to eat, but only when you’re out of combat
Warlocks give you food you can eat anytime (healthstones)

Mages don’t care if you drown
Warlocks do, and you can swim faster (underwater breathing)

Mages have one form of CC (polymorph)
Warlocks have three (fear, banish , succubus)

Mages won’t tank for you
warlocks will (well, we won’t either, but we know a guy)

moral of the story. Mages are jerks
So if you’re a jerk, play a mage.

Otherwise, lock and load

Oh, and warlocks have VASTLY better tier/pvp mogs

Is this a troll thread?

  • Fire mage - grossly OP in all forms of content
  • Affliction lock - very good in raids for 4x the effort of any other class, trash everywhere else
  • Frost mage - keeps receiving emergency buffs, better than all 3 warlock specs in more forms of content
  • Destro lock - average in raids and m+, dumpster in PVP
  • Demo lock - dumpster in everything
  • Arcane mage - average in everything

i personally prefer mage.

quicker gameplay imo, more squishy though and well i don’t have to deal with the whole demon stuff which im not really a fan of. warlocks are good in their own way though. tanky, health stones, pets, can reliably self heal, soul stone, can summon, demon gate which is useful.

mages are overplayed everytime i raid we always looking for locks. ive mained my mage for 6 straight years idk how locks are as highest level lock i have leveled was around 30’s atm but it gets VERY stale. only playing 1 out of the 3 specs. usually frost/fire whichever is best that patch. if you pvp i think all 3 are viable but most pushing high ratings will still push with the meta spec. i assume locks are the same way though but cannot confirm.

Mage is my favourite dps class so I’m not at all biased when I say go death knight.

Mage, obviously. You can roll a Warlock if you want a Mage sidekick. :wink:
