Taking a deeper dive on Arthas could be an interesting watch for lore nerds if the creators/writers got a clue and some chops.
My personal interest is lukewarm at best but if I hear good things I could be tempted to watch it.
I feel the same way, there are in some ways more compelling characters to do a deep dive on that could be more interesting to see a story of. We basically already know Arthas story so why do more?
To me it feels like “well we screwed up with unrelatable terrible writing in retail that too few enjoy, so lets do Arthas again, that will sell”…
This isn’t from Blizzard. It’s fan content using AI as far as I know. The trailer didn’t really do it for me but if I heard or read from trusted sources that it was a worth a watch Id give it a go.
I’m far less interested in anything Blizz would actually do with Arthas in this capacity given what they did to my boy in Shadowlands.
Mehhh. Not really interested enough based on this preview.
Been there, done that.
It’s not an actual movie? I really thiught it was going to be fun to watch.
yeah… disastrously bad writing.
Arthas is kinda like an OG oathbreaker, from my perspective. I think the trailer is really good and it hyped me up for the movie.
Agreed.
Which is why I’d prefer if someone takes this on, be it Blizzard or fan, that they go the route of the Warcraft film and not use the canon timeline but an alternate one.
Its going to be a series if I understand it right. How many episodes and how long each episode is going to be isn’t something I researched. The creator might have it on their youtube page somewhere but I didnt look.
I have no idea what the creator has in store but it looks like its going to start off with Arthas as a boy and work its way up from there. I have no clue where they plan to end it and how.
Depends on what you mean by “movie”. If you are thinking of a complete Hollywood production to be released in theaters or even something going straight to streaming, it’s not likely. Those things are expensive to make and it’s not clear that the MMO industry has enough customers who would go and watch it.
Maybe back in 2004 but once Social Media came along and ate the MMO’s lunch there was no longer the type of demand for that type of film.
We saw Arthas in WC3 and then again in the novel which was basically a copy and paste job… no.
We’ve seen it done to death
I will say one thing about Arthas, he has one of the best theme songs that was not written by John Williams.
