Whole lotta NOPE.
Hey I like half price nooks
I imagine her loyalists either have a body pillow of her or a Real Doll of her. Either of which is disturbing.
I never liked her badly written fanfic. I have a couple of her Ravenloft novels a friend gave me years and years ago.
A big part of the community won’t buy it because Christie Golden wrote the book, and others won’t because it’s about Sylvanas.
If Golden is a contentious figure, or people disapprove of her work, then she’s not a great figurehead to represent your company with works like this. If a huge portion of the fanbase is either sick of or hates Sylvanas, then, she’s probably not a good character to write about.
The reason to choose Golden makes sense to me, she’s brand loyal and seemingly a good worker. The reason to choose Sylvanas is a bit unclear, though I’m assuming Blizzard or the writers are trying to setup key elements of the story that will either make Sylvanas’ death more compelling, or her vindication more believable.
I could be reading too much into this, who knows.
The vast majority of the playerbase plays World of Warcraft because they love the game and the series, almost all of Christie’s books have made best seller lists if not all of them, and the opinions of the very loud, very vocal forum-goers are not the least representative of the overall fanbase who probably don’t even know these forums or the WoW subreddit even exist.
EDIT: I guarantee the book will sell like hotcakes.
ew not giving Golden any money lol
I can’t even remember if our borders book store is still a thing. I think the tough part is finding a place that sells books that’s still open.
Maybe, maybe not.
Walmart, maybe. But, you’re probably better off checking online with Walmart or Amazon if you’re interested in buying the new book. Though I don’t see them currently listed if the book is already for sale.
Oh heavens no. I have no interest in reading about the banshee queen. it’s likely I’ll hear the book anyway when my guildmate logs in drunk and recites passages. I appreciate the response though!
Most of the people who say that don’t even know what Christie’s actual day-to-day job is at Blizzard.
Most fans do not know WoW writers and novelists by name.
Don’t overthink it. These forums are the epitome of a bubble.
EDIT: It’s already rank #221 on Amazon btw, that’s like a 12,000% increase in the last 24 hours.
Like I said, bubble.
Press X to doubt.
Two things I always loved about this scene: 1. Starscream is leader for all of maybe 2 seconds, and 2. Megatron as Galvatron just STEPS on the crown and crushes it, demonstrating that he does not need something as petty as a crown to act as a symbol of his authority and right to lead.
The only person who managed to Pull this off in recent memory is Natsuko Ishikawa and it was because their ultimate Goal was rooted in compassion and the surrounding Circumstances were tragic and not self-inflicted
Sylvanas is just…unpalatable.
And those Novellas Retconned the IN-game events literally Days after they happened and were still ongoing
I just stated my opinion. At least i have read several of her books before i made my opinion. I have a right to my opinion just like you have a right to yours.
at this point I feel like WoW is just like one of the community writing stories like those SCP stuff, cause you can’t convince me everyone writing this story is on the same page or even talking to each other.
The creative process, as per devs across several interviews, is that the game team comes up with a concept they think would be cool, tells the story team and cinematic team, and then those two teams work in silos with minimal communication.
They have a “historian”, but according to him the idea of canon only exists to limit creativity.
Another christie golden novel
Expect sylvanas to be a total mary sue with extreme plot armor and maybe even a redemption arc because she’s a feminist heroine and can’t look bad
Thats like a doctor thinking modern medicine is phoey and then proceeds to prescribed you essential oils, how do you fail so bad at your 1 job, why he pick that job if he’s against its very core principle
