I’m sure we’re all waiting with bated breath to read about that one flashback incident which apparently made her show some emotion because she got used by the Jailer in the same way she used others.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people suddenly changed their opinion about her.
A sob story and a redemption arc with or without logic is the craze in today’s world.
Sounds like you’re not ever spending a dime on their lore again, in that case. Everything is subject to retcon. We could find out that Azeroth is actually just a wart on some even bigger being’s cosmic butt, next expansion, despite having seen the planet from space aboard the Vindicaar.
Besides her life before the RTS where she died what don’t we know about her? Like she has been a pretty much up and front character in WoW and warcraft in general. Is this just putting to paper the story of the RTS-Now?
Any character besides the unofficial mascot would be more enjoyable. We have had so much Sylvanas over the years what else could they possibly show us in the book?
To those bemoaning the authorship, it could be worse. Richard Knaak could have written it, in which case it would be 3,000 pages and still nothing would happen.

Yeah maybe right? But anyone who thought blizzard was mid expansion suddenly adding in story elements that the player could weave to a degree was insane. They have constantly shown that if it causes more work they don’t do it or don’t do it for long.
