What is the gold cap set at; 9,999,999 gold? Seems weird that it would be that low if it is, because games like Ever Quest that came out 5 years earlier, heck even EVE Online has higher caps. I know when I left in 2011, I thought 250k gold was a lot having played since 2004.
Had I not left, I would have spread out the things I bought in Dragon Flight over those missing 9 years but still never would purchase anything 1 million +. I don’t mind gold sinks, but stupid sinks are just that.
Crafting order, only reason for me to craft atm. Next expansion it will be more regular crafting unless I accept an NPC order. Thankfully they are adding back the no mats can’t make a public work order (I believe).
Same way with the void bank. I am just use to the way my guild bank works, and my personal bank. Mentally I view all bags and tabs separately. I don’t use an all-in 1 bag type add-on or the game feature that was added.
Mounts and extras having insane gold costs are ok given no one HAS to have them.
But storage? I mean, jesus christ man…this expansion was sold as WARBANDS…and then Ion finds a way to ruin the entire thing yet again by pulling this kind of crap with STORAGE, lol.
why not just have 5000 slot bags for the whales too that costs 10 million gold. lol.
pretty much the same lame concept we have here.
Yeah, Crafting Orders aren’t meant to work with the Warbank.
This I didn’t hear about, but I hope so.
Warband =/= you get every perk of it for cheap or free.
If you can’t afford the last 2 tabs then you don’t need them.
lmao.
Can always tell the disgusting bias in here by who they are railing at…and whom they are excusing lmao
lol…Im not the one who sold this expansion as being about WARBANDS son…Ion is.
and STORAGE has ZERO to do with how much gold I have…its like you dont even play this game lmao
edit…oh…I see whats going on here…youre trying to make some irrelevant statement to try to keep me going back and forth with you for three days about some detail that has no bearing on this issue…lol…NOT interested.
Same. I prefer the distinction with the separate bags. That way nothing gets mixed up with my ‘required’ stuff.
At least there’s one thing I can count on being consistent.
LOL is that what’s going on? Son?
And? You get it for pretty much nothing.
Of course it does son. If you don’t have the Gold then you don’t need all that space because that means you aren’t a major crafter and AH player.
I LOVE the warbanks. Not having to mail everything to alts is awesome.
Id just like to point out you havent collected a single like on your molten hot lava takes , you are the master of your own domain , o7
World quest gold is incredibly low gold per hour. Gathering farms were much better in SL. Now they’re all terrible.
The entire storage and inventory system in WoW needs a complete revamp. This idea of slots that can take anything leads to pointless inventory management.
Previously we had guild banks and your personal bank. Then they added the reagent bank, which is sort of nice but is really a third place to store things (meaning reagents can still be in your main bank). Now we have a 4th place to store things: the warbank (let’s just pretend void storage doesn’t exist).
Were I to design WoW now, I’d do away with alts entirely. You have one toon that can do multiple jobs (ie like FF14) and your race would be a cosmetic choice, nothing more. But of course that’s not going to happen so we have to think about how we handle all the alts, and I say this as someone with a lot of alts.
If you look at an addon called Adibags, you see a bit of how this might work. Basically instead of blank slots, what you’re carrying is divided up. Usefully, items in equipment sets as separated from random stuff you pick up off the ground.
Here are my guiding principles for how this should all work:
- Don’t force me to store things only relevant to one activity. Store the items in that activity. Example: you have armor and weapon tokens for your garrison mission table and equipment for your shipyard. These shouldn’t be in the bank. They should simply be things you have access to when you use your mission table or shipyard. Same goes for every mission table (eg XP tokens and champion equipment);
- Reagents should be account wide storage only and it should be unlimited. There should be filters for the relevant profession as well as for which expansion;
- Warbound equipment should just go into the account bank. Not into your inventory;
- Rep tokens belong on the Reputation tab, not in your bags or inventory.
- I don’t think equipment belongs in a generic bank either. Expand the functionality of the equipment set tab. Make it more prominent. Have it show what gear is obsolete (eg you have another piece in the same slot that’s strictly better) with easy ways to DE or vendor it;
- Quest items shouldn’t be a thing cluttering up your bags or bank. ATtach them to the relevant quest.
There’s probbaly more but that’ woudl be a good start. Declutter, declutter, declutter. Don’t force me to once a patch go through every toon and clean out my bank. Don’t burden me with, say, random Zskera Vault items that I may or may not need one day.
If you do it right, you shouldn’t need a generic bank at all.
But back to the the tabs. Tabs, from a UI/UX perspective, tend to be pretty lazy, particularly the way Blizzard does them. There are top tabs, side tabs and bottom tabs, depending on the UI. As soon as you see that, you know something went horribly wrong. There are even tabs within tabs eg the character select screen has currency and reputation bottom tabs but it also has sub-tabs for titles and equipment sets.
I have so many toons that have a bag of Legion mission table champion equipment, another bag of Emerald Dream and DF trash (eg seeds, hunting trophies, etc), a bag of alternate gear (eg speed set) and a bag of trinkets.
I don’t want to manage any of that.
Uh buy a wow token!
It’s 2024, its not hard to get the amount of gold needed to buy the tabs, Especially if your playing to a capacity that you need all of them
its not hard to get the amount of gold needed to buy the tabs
everyone is too busy buying carries.
Why not at least give us a button “take lock” or whatever so we don’t have to log out toons to get this to work? Include some implicit behaviour here too like:
- Don’t acquire the lock until you open the Warbank;
- Automatically release the lock when you close the Warbank;
It’s not just the warbank that locks. You can’t use pets or transfer currencies either.
