Not terribly useful until you have different crafters that use the same base set of mats, say like a blacksmith, jewelcrafter, and engineer; or alchemist and inscriptionist. The warband bank will sorta become the default place you store ore or herbs, and either toon will draw from that bank to make their stuff.
Nice enough, that you only need a single tab to make that sort of functionality work.
Bank money is for freely moving gold between servers. You could in the past convert gold to token to blizz acct balance back to token then sell for gold on different server; but there’s a solid 20% or so effective tax on such a transaction. Now its free. Which is cool in my book, as I have millions trapped on a lowpop, almost dead server that would be nice to have on an active server.
I can craft from my warband bank, but i cannot fulfill crafting orders from the warband bank which i hope is a bug and gets addressed asap,
And while they are at it, the should also make it so i can buy from vendors that require reagents as currency while the reagents are in my bank/warband bank
I did not know that but I would like to have two or three free warbank pages dedicated to reagents and nothing but reagents. Maybe each bought Warbank page could give you an extra regents only page. This and we can finally dump EVERYTHING in there and stack it up automatically. After that we can retrieve materials whenever a character need them.
i have no idea.
you shouldn’t be able to access them from the non-reagent tab.
the crafting should just fail.
maybe you’ve got stacks which you’ve overlooked because your reagent bank is so full?
people put reagents in their non-reagent tab so they don’t accidentally get used while crafting… so i have no idea what’s going on.
it’s probably more to do with the “how” than the “why”.
the reagent tab is designed so you can craft while not needing to be at the bank
we’ve got various storage options, and they all work differently.
i bet by the end of the week, someone has morphed this into “blizz promised!”
Until you want to use the work order system to craft anything using any of said shared profession mats. Then the warbank slaps you in the face with a “computer says no”. Lmao.
Claim the order, fetch the mats, complete the order. A bit more annoying that it should be, but far less of a nuisance than mailing mats back and forth, or having to keep stock on each toons individual bank.
That said, I suspect it won’t be long before this oversight is addressed, I don’t think this is the intended behavior of work orders.
If you have characters on more than one realm you cannot just mail stuff, so the Warband Bank lets you move things and gold between realms which you cannot do otherwise unless you always have 2 accounts or a friend to meet you from the other realm.
For now I’m using my Warband bank to buy stuff cheap on some realms, then sell them for a lot more on other realms with higher prices. Low pop realms are notorious for pricing stuff like bags way higher than busier high pop realms. This will probably change over time as people start noticing and doing the same thing.
Yeah i just noticed this today as well - im fairly certain you could in the past though - and i can still complete normal recipes from my warbank (i changed this as i thought i could from my tailor - but then noticed the mats were being supplied)
Any non-soulbound item can be stored in the Warband Bank. The bank will also behave like the reagent bank, allowing you to craft using reagents from it without having to withdraw them. In addition, the bank will allow you to deposit and manually withdraw gold across characters in your Warband.
Guys it’s a bug lol, several people already reported it in the bugs section, the warbank isn’t fully done, likely will take a month or 2.
I’m just hoping it allows us to craft and/or use stuff needed in npcs directly from it at TWW launch, it would be really nice to just dump the stuff there and not be forced to organize/mail stuff back and forth once a week.
Side note, when i dumped my main stuff there I felt freedom like i never had before
first time since maybe BFA i had half the inventory empty.
I tried it on one of my tailors and I was able to make stuff from mats in my Warband bank. Yes I cleared all the mats and reagents from my personal bank so it was all in the Warband bank and I crafted cloth stuff just fine. Maybe other profession stuff is bugged?
