No, you don’t. I have two toons in SL, who have never touched BFA. And those are my first toons to pass 50.
Now,I have to agree with her on that matter if your totally new to the game and haven’t run even once it should be that way but repetitively on all alts ,No.
Why? Like, why do you need to go through a dead campaign?
There’s no point where knowing plot points is going to make you a better player.
If you totally new to the game ,yes but not all 49 alts that is a time consuming lose. I have 12 others alts to venture with every day and do them with another 8 more? Come on I rather skip the maw by now.
I wouldn’t mind skipping the maw, but it isn’t all that bad.
I would love to start the covenant campaign earlier.
We should be able to give our alts some sort of commendation for reps if one toon has them at exalted. I mean we should be able to recommend them up to revered at least.
I’m still waiting for you to give an actual reason why you think people need to go through the whole story.
I said if you are NEW TO THE GAME you WOULD have to go through it once but not every single alt a person has .Do I make my point clear or do you not read.
Meaning? Everything I said was true. None of that mentioned is hard. At all. lol
You don’t make sense. Why does a new player have to go through BFA now that we are in SL? What reason would there be to make somebody run that content?
And, no, you currently don’t have to do BFA at all. Nothing makes you. I skipped from WoD to a bit of Legion, to SL.
He’s saying if you have a new account, Blizzard forces you to do BFA on your account’s first character. There’s no way around it.
Except that this is my first character. It is in SL, and I’ve never played BFA content on it.
so, no - it doesn’t force you to do BFA, on any of your toons.
bliz should just go hog wild and crazy with catchup systems every .5 patch, at that point it really doesn’t matter because most competitive guilds are done with prog. if i wana level some random alt and get it mythic raid ready within a week or 2 i should be able to if prog is over. this game isnt an rpg anymore idk why we even have gear anymore, it should all just be scalled to be the same when you are doing M+, mythic raids, or pvp.
I was referring to the maw content ,only reason I can think of is that’s the starting area for SL .if you reached 50 you can just move forward to SL you don’t have to do Bfa content til you wish to.
I’d also add that covenant progress should be shared between characters on the account with the same Covenant. Got a mostly maxed out Venthyr Sinfall? All other characters that choose Venthyr should have the same progress as soon as they hit cap.
For the players that wish to upgrade the covenant on new alts all over again give them a toggle to do so, dont punish the rest of us.
For PvP:
- Reduce the gear level gap in pvp to 10 ilvl’s max and remove the minimum rating for upgrading gear. If pvp is truly about skill it should all be ilevel matched like tournament realms but everyone wants a little “spice” in rpg-pvp supposedly.
It’s probably that way for three reasons. First, they want new players to get the minimal lore background required to remotely understand what the heck is going on in Shadowlands.
Second, they don’t want some new player to be dropped into much older, far less polished content in the game (ex., Outland) and think that the entire game is that way. They’d rather show off the much newer content to new players.
Third, they don’t want new players to be spread out across all of the old content and think that the playerbase is much smaller than it is because they see so few people out and about. Funneling all new players through the same starting area and expansion content mixes them with far more players than if they were playing random old content (with the possible exception of Legion which still seems very popular).
There wasn’t ever a version of this game we’re you ever could be “mythic (or the equivalent) ready” within 2 weeks on a fresh character without either being massively funneled/boosted or literally playing 80hours a week for both weeks while starting a character from scratch.
Both of these options are still possible now, btw.
Also interesting to see someone complain that this game isn’t an RPG anymore… but wants RPG aspects removed from it.
The weird thing is that they have this in ESO, and I thought they were just going to make everything scale to 50, and then they did, but only some of the time for some of the people in some of the places… and I’m still not sure why they did it the way they did instead of just having the whole world scale
All of these sound so nice
The old zones are way more enjoyable in my opinion and doubt blizz will ever let people play where they want . I went ahead and made some XP off twinks to explore the old zones without things dying if you look at them the wrong way. I highly suggest giving it a try.
