Wands Can Now Be Transmogged Into Other Weapon Types!

I’m disappointed they haven’t done the Artifacts across spec change in the Beta yet.

Finally. Wonder if the Shoot ability still exists so you could see your character performing an animation with the mogged weapon?

Brings up some peculiar images, that it does.

“So, you’re dumb enough to bring a dagger to a wand-figh-- ow ow ow ow ow how are you shooting me from over there with a dagger?”

I’ve always actually been interested in seeing my mage shoot spells from a staff so that was the first image I had, lol.

Ok, hopped on the beta (just got it yay!) and nothing works.

I mogged a wand on my mage into a sword and you literally can’t attack at all with it. If you try the shoot ability you get an error message saying that spell is incompatible with your weapon appearance. But you get the same message of you just try to melee anything.

So basically as it stands right now if you mog a wand to a melee weapon it becomes an usesable stat stick. This looks to be incomplete though. My guess is because of the error message when they get it working properly your weapon will become whatever it looks like. So if you mog a wand to a sword, it will become a sword and work like a sword.

While I’m not one of those, “everything should be transmogable to everything else!” types, I’m definitely in favor of this.

With shoot not having any significant relevance, wands have always been the D-class of caster equipment. Even getting 1h weapons you have to pair with off-hands seemed somehow less disappointing.

I mean…no one is using their wands to attack anymore anyway. Aside from maybe the odd occasion when you want to pull a mob but not just cast a spell at it…for whatever reason.

I’m just glad they finally made this change. Daggers as well. It was pretty silly that these were the only weapon types still exclusive to themselves.

Wonder if Assasination rogues would mind enhancement using daggers too lol. Since blizzard’s reason from taking daggers away is to make rogues unique.

Don’t daggers have significantly lower top-end damage than maces/fists/swords because of their speed? I doubt an enhancement shaman would want to use them anyway.

Just tested it and daggers are still locked to daggers at the moment. So no dagger enhance shammies or dagger outlaws/sword sin/subs yet. Hopefully that will change though. If they can make wands moggable, daggers should be abble to as well.

For transmog? Of course. Spellblades is something I always wanted to mog into.

Oh, you’re talking about transmog, not stats. Yeah, that’s fine. No reason they shouldn’t be able to.
