I agree, look, I have a wand of the forgotten seer and the description says this:
Equip: [Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 12.]
Well, in this case it increases the damage and healing done by magic spells and effects, in this case it was not to increase the “fire” damage of the wand? So not climbing in this case doesn’t make sense, so much so that the game counts the increase in damage just doesn’t pass it on to the hit on the mob.
Isn’t it?
But for me… just the Wand Specialization talent are the damage of the wand is effectively increased against the mobs, including counting the ranged damage of the character’s information. But any other source of increasing this damage simply does not pass on to the damage that the wand actually does to the mob, nor spell power, nor effects, nothing! It just shows, but it doesn’t work effectively, that I think it should, so the wands would be much more useful in DPS and in Leveling, since SHOOT activates the GCD anyway.
But if it shouldn’t incrase, why just don’t fix the visual bug?
Just ran a quick 5 minute test with my level 40 affliction spec alt warlock on level 10-14 mobs using a shadow damage wand with +shadow damage bonus. Most of my gear is +shadow spell damage (shadow wrath) or + damage/healing effect and spells. Total is around 180. With or without any gear on, the wand damage was the same.
35.7 dps wand, 1.5s speed, avg for both cases was just over 50 per shot.
Are you saying Wands damage really incrase in mobs (if it’s a shadow damage wand) when in Shadow Form? I’m saying not in visual characters ranged damage, directly in mob? If yes, every other bonus from spell power as Shadow should do it too, right? Or Blizzard has to fixed this visual bug ASAP!
They increase from effects that do stuff like “increase fire damage” or “increase fire damage target takes” etc. They dont benefit from +spell damage, or anything that says increases spell damage or fire spell damage etc.
what about items with an effect like phoenix pants? increase the damage of fire spells AND fire effects? would that boost the damage of a fire damage wand?
