But can you name 2 abilities that have 100% uptime 3% damage reduc?

There aren’t too many encounters in raid or M+ where PCT is a need to have totem.

Im not sure about PvP as I don’t play Shaman there.

And for the single week per month where its very useful in M+, you still have it for every other cast or so.

100% uptime? Not sure but Iron Fur and Thrash Stacks, Ignore Pain, Shield of the Righteous, Shaman Healing giving 10% more HP is basically 10% damage reduction.

Well priest gives stam buff, so that’s like 5%. :open_mouth: no other class gives that, should be removed

Hm. Yep. Welcome to the Mass Dispel treatment where a class has something that is incredibly useful to the point where its utility overshadows the rest of the kit, so instead of slowing down on designing things around having to require such utility, they just nerf the utility itself.

I do find it hilarious that Shaman are always attacked whenever they’re doing well.

They definitely aren’t in Blizzard’s “favored” specs they enjoy keeping at the top.

A long time ago in Vanilla, a WoW dev was kited to death thanks to Frost Shock, and they’ve been out for Shaman ever since.

Remember when people brought Shaman just for Grounding Totem, so Blizzard just removed the spell doing the one function they put it in to do?

Players: This affix sucks, shamans are the only ones good at dealing with it.
Blizzard: Ok, No Problem.
Players: Oh cool Tha-
Blizzard: Nerfs Shaman.
Players: What?
Shaman: What?
Blizzard: What?

Players: We wanted you to redesign the affix… or make the dispels other players need to help with the affix baseline… or to like… homogenize dispels to all work the same way…

Blizzard: Yeah… that sounds like a lotta work, we’re just gonna nerf Shaman. Changes number from 45 to 120
Blizzard: Should be good in a week.

I miss when Shaman alone would bring Bloodlust lol, and back then everyone had some kind of buff they’d bring, like a Moonkin for Spell Crit, etc. (It still kinda works like this, just a lot more varied in terms of who brings what, now.)

And Hunter pets had different raid buffs, making Hunters the omni-buff class that could fill in for others.

I don’t like how homogenous things have become, because now it’s mostly about DPS alone, and that’s harder to balance imo.

At least there was a reason to bring underperformers back then. Kinda like everyone was Aug in their own special way.

I’m just not sure “bring the class” panned out the way Blizz thought it would lmao.

Yup, it’s not just that, they used to beat up Priests with lots of nerf in the past. I can’t stand it, along with no interrupt. I abandoned my 3 years old Priest.

The dracthyr form might be tempting, but I can’t do it.

I really just think it’s the nature of making hard content in a game like this. Either you grab a class because it’s specific utility makes it easy/possible or it’s numbers are whack.
