gonna watch the Napoleon miniseries with Christian Clavier. It’s janky but better than that pile of garbage Ridley Scott made last year, what a freaking disappointment that trash wass. And with jkoachim pheonix too. like how dou not even HAVE the battle of leipzig?

If you do a movie about Napoleon YOU CANNOT SKIP the following battles

Austerlitz
Borodino
Liepzig
Waterloo

come on

Also, finished Monk finally, all 8 seasons. Glad he could find peace at the end. Need something else to watch now. The Boys and Invincibe won’t be back for a while.

Also, John Malkovich as Tallyrand lol

Napoleon might be my favorite historical figure.

on my short list of favorite historical figures, he’s not one of them

TBF I’m not endorsing him or saying he was a good person. Just that he was an interesting figure.

I’d pick Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. Everyone remembers the scene from Gettysburg, but he was gravely wounded at Petersburg with a wound the surgeons originally thought would be fatal. And it was … eventually. Before it caught up to him, he managed to serve four terms as Governor of Maine, and taught every class in Bowdoin College’s curriculum except for mathematics.

If I ever had a son, I’d have named him Joshua Lawrence. A boy ought to have a name he can live up to.

Chamberlain was the unsung hero of Gettysberg.

But he is one of my favorites.

A quiet professor, a man of god who almost became a priest. And he found himself shouting BAYONETTES at Little Round Top.

For Gettysburg, Buford was the critical figure for day 1, Chamberlain on day 2, and Meade on day 3 for repulsing the Pettigrew/Trimble/Pickett charge (which was ordered by Lee, not Pickett, not sure why Pickett takes all the blame for it)

A strong case could be made for Gaius Julius Caesar. Granted, he needed stabbing, but religious figures excepted, no man has cast a longer shadow over human history.

We still use his calendar.

The last man to rule a nation under some variation of his name – Tsar Simeon II of Bulgaria – is still alive.

ugh, I’m getting to the part in this Napoleon miniseries where he’s about to do something incredibly stupid . . . invade Russia.

nintendo dmca all the music channels.
dances a strange dance

i had this great dream. something about rising waters swallowing up the world. I was carrying something of great value from the flood waters. we got to japan and had to take refuge in this hotel on a mountain we were deciding if we going to stay there as they had a promotional deal going on including a free hot tub in room (the mountain was really cold) and ice cream buffet and coupons for a grocery store (we needed food) when i woke up to well right now.

ill be there.
