Mainly cause make your own grp you can play gate keeper and pick and choose who gets to run.
Making your own group =/= being the leader. It just means you throw your key into group finder, vet the applicants, then chuck your key in the font. Job done.
If your stressed over depleting a key, then I think you mythic plus is not for you

Actually the worst part of that argument is the complete dismissal of the fact that if you’re IO rating is, like 112 … no one’s going to JOIN your group, either.
No matter which side of the fence you’re on, people can tell if you’re dead weight. That’s the IO was designed for: eliminate dead weight.
If you’re trying to do anything other than "raise your score ‘organically’ ", you’re not going to have much luck.
Work your way up to about 1000 score by running your own keys.
That makes getting into groups easier, which means you can be more selective about which keys you want to do.
Let’s be honest here. The end game goal is to get blizzard to change the dungeon finder to allow mythic plus to carry these people right?

People don’t look at the IO of group leaders usually.
I just 3-chested a +12 SMBG (easy key, though) and timed a +14 CoS with a terrible comp and ended up being getting 3 quality players for my key list.
Also, solo DPS queue that got declined from like 15 key groups prior to this one.
I’m going to strongly disagree with that.
Maybe in the <5 game, but the more you go up, the more EVERY member matters.
The game (for better or worse) is becoming more and more focused on 1-shot mechanics (for the player), and 1-shot mechanics that wipe the whole group. EVERYONE has to know their stuff.
People are checking the leader who made the Key. Trust me. I only have time to dabble in M+ (I mean, I got all 4 KSMs in SL) and even I do it.
You do it, I don’t really. People will group with my 230 ilvl druid for +15s during Sepulcher too… That’s like 30 ilvls below the median at that point.
I guess all we can do is open it up to public opinion, because I think-- although you’re not wrong-- you are in the great minority if you think people don’t inspect the leader once you go over +10s, and it exponentially increases as you go higher from there.
I don’t think so because people will group with anyone for a key, people are lazy and just spam join, like me.
Oh for sure, if the key holder has any red flags (mostly ones that indicate them having been carried or otherwise vastly underqualified), I’ll dip.

If you can’t find a group, be it your own lack of credibility or otherwise, its your best option.
