Soo… i finally did voldun on a horde character and saw the whole slave trade situation… a few questions. Who is buying the slaves at the market? Why are they doing that? Slaves usually have a purpose… build stuff, clean stuff… doesnt seem to be the case here. Fight for them? Never see a single vulpera slave armed to fight. Literally seems to be just for fun, to torture them.
So why would someone like that purchase slave instead of going out and catching one for themselves? The Faithless seem to be the only market there… since the entire point of the Faithless is to conqueror the island, aka zuldazar is the enemy, the tortollans wouldnt bother buying a slave, and the other faithless can literally just go get one themselves no problem. So why is there a slave market?? Any horde guys with more knowledge?

Presumably like any society the Sethrak have non-combatants, families, children, homes, etc. Not every Sethrak would have the time to go slave hunting.
It may also be the case that the pre-Cataclysm Zandalari indulged in Vulpera slave-owning with the Sethrak as brokers, though I’m not aware of any specific examples of that being true. Just a supposition.

Says who?
Just because I could go out and hunt my own boar, doesn’t mean I wanna.
Some snake men got better **** to do than catch their own slaves
Some Vulpera are used as miners for Azerite veins.

the vast majority of the vulpera are non combatants from what we can see, the faithless are seemingly all combatants, i kinda get them as being the warriors of their people and the young ones who wanna earn their glory or gain recognition from their leader. There is zero evidence in the horde main story line there that there is anything else . im just trying to see if anyone has any other information. Ard, thanks i didnt realize that. is that in a quest or a worldquest?
The Zandalari were said to dislike slavery in Shadows of the Horde, something that continues on Zandalar proper in BFA.
But oddly Chronicles retconned the slavers of the Goblins on Kezan as Zandalari instead of jungle trolls so…the Zandalari stance on slavery is a bit muddled.
As for the Vulpera combatant/non-combatant thing…it’s because the slavery was just a plot device to drum up sympathy for the Vulpera and hatred of the Sethrak, there’s not any more thought put into it than that.

This is not true, we see shopkeepers, shoppers, and citizens at the slithering gulch, which is where you can see the slave auctions.
The sethrak also seems to have the majority of their civilization underground as well as we can see in some caves like Vorrik’s Sanctum or inside the Temple of Sethraliss. If I remember correctly one of the trolls also is surprised to see so many sethrak above ground.
The faithless also have tortollan slaves too.
Edit: I found the dialogue I was thinking of.
Bladeguard Tarkaj says: Kaja, we should adjust course. We’re nearing de sethrak empire.
Bladeguard Kaja says: De serpent men? I thought dey hid mostly beneath de dunes…
Bladeguard Tarkaj says: It appears their presence has grown.
It’s not slavery if they don’t call it slavery.
Basically what I think the Zandalari were doing.
Yeah, could also have been a “they’re not on Zandalar, so it’s not technically like we’re damaging the sanctity”.
Plenty of examples throughout history of groups who officially disdained things but allowed them to continue through loopholes and ignorance.
