I’ve been seeing it everywhere. And no surprise either, the mount is amazing. They’ve added the rylak, runesaber, and bat in game now too. Perhaps we will see even more of that model soon.
People like small, cute, furry animals.
-Looks at Vulpera-
It is an inevitability.
I’ve never wanted something so much from this game as I do playable Vulpera. They are so godd*** cute. It would be so much fun to make other players feel the fury of the furries!
I would be happy for them to become playable.
Same here! I think Vulpera would be an excellent addition. Some say “they bring nothing new”… well the other ARs don’t bring much ‘new’ with that argument either. Vulpera have desert expertise. Heck, the whole reason we work with the Zandalari is destroyed coming up soon enough and we still take them into the horde, so it’s not a valid argument at all.
That and when you think about it the Horde owes them big time the Horde champion would be dead if it wasn’t for Nisha.
Same here bud. I’m enjoying the rich story and easy class swaps.
I think the Vulpera would absolutely be an asset to the Horde. The Zandalari have used Vol’dun to exile people to certain death. The Vulpera have found a way to thrive in these conditions, are good at smuggling, fighting and are very resourceful.
Rogues were a lynch pin in the victory at Darkshire/Teldrassil and I think the Warchief can appreciate the value of scrappy little foxes
So I’ve been thinking alot about Sethrak/Vulpera races because it’s the #1 thing I’m dying to see implemented in the game. Like a lot of things with this expansion, there is SO much potential for these races that (at least in my opinion) aren’t executed to their fullest.
The Sethrak Empire should be a direct competitor to the troll Zandalar Empire. Both want to rule the continenet and both have 1/3 well in their grasp with Nazmir being unhospitible to both due to the wildlife/bloodtrolls/etc.
This would add some threat behind the Zandalari who are exiled to Vol’dun, as the environment is inhospitible to trolls but also the Sethrak would surely kill them due to their conflicts.
Among the Sethrak, you can have the same Faithless rebellion and storyline without painting ONLY the Faithless as being hostile to the Horde/trolls. You’d have a very good reason for the Sethrak Empire at large to be hostile to Horde players questing in the area.
And the Vulpera? They are pests to the Sethrak. They steal and sabotage and are a general nuissance of caravaning mongrels to an ancient and civilized empire. The Vulpera (as they do) can give Horde and Horde players an ally in Vol’dun. Enslaved by the Sethrak and killed as nuisance vermin (the same way furblogs and other creatures are treated around Azeroth) - but not isolating the Faithless as the only hostile actors.
The faithless storyline can unfold in the exact same way with either Vorrik being "the one good Sethrak who, as a good leader, tries to recruit unlikely allies for a specific purpose or (preferably, IMO), the whole story could unfold for Horde players through the eyes of Vulpera.
TLDR: I think the Sethrak should be a hostile race towards Horde players, not just the Faithless. Sethrak Empire should be at odds with Zandalari Empire for control of Zandalar.
This, of course, opens up the Sethrak to ally with the Alliance. The Alliance Vol’dun opening quests are perfect, and the two are likely allies. Both “lawful good” types, both anti-troll/Horde expansion. I don’t know that we’ve gotten too deep into Sethrak lore and history but parallels could easily be drawn to support synergies with the Alliance.
The Vulpera, of course, would see the Alliance as natural enemies. Not just because of their alliance with the Sethrak but also because they would represent the same thing that oppressed them for generations - a powerful, unified empire wanting to impose their civilization on the whole world. There wouldn’t need to be hamfisted “purge-squads” as the Vulpera should be naturally suspicious or hateful of what the Alliance represents and their ties to the Sethrak would seal the deal. It also might give the Alliance reasons to kill/harass Vulpera for invasions and world quests because, as far as they know, they are just a group of bandits and hooligans to the civilized law and order Sethrak.
The Alliance already don’t interact with the Vulpera at all and it builds more tension, room for interesting faction growth and makes the Sethrak more interesting (imo) than writing off their sins as “the faithless” so they don’t actually matter moving forward.
Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to share what I’ve been playing with in my head
I agree with your opinion!
Another thing that can be considered is that soon the horde and the zandalar will attack the base of the Alliance in Vol’dum!
And both the zandalar and the horde may want the sethraks to help in this endeavor!
But these may not want to engage in a new war against a people against whom there are no quarrels!
Sethraks want to rebuild their cities and reunify your people!
No more war!
I think the vulperas could be very angry if the sethraks address to look at their own problems and do not wish to cooperate and fight the Alliance.
Let us remember that the vulperas are helping the logistics of the Horde and being addressed by the the Alliance so action!
But the sethraks don’t seem to be having problems with Alliance or assisting the Horde or Zandalar with any resource type!
More so because the relationship between the sethraks and zandalares may not be so narrow in the future!
Let’s remember that Zandalar send their criminals to die in Vol’dum but many thrive and cause problems to sethraks and vulperas!
I do not know the position of the sethraks in seeing their lands being converted into a penal colony zandalar!
There is also the case of Bowsandii!
Now that he is the Loa of the Kings and Queens, he may want to increase his influence and this could be the source of a stirring between Sethraliss and the Loa of Death!
I easily see sethraks losing patience if the subject involves their divinity!
This are all points that could be explored and used as background if Aunt Blizz considers Sethraks as a new playable race and allow her to be elected to the Alliance, while Vulpera goes on to Horde!
Just wanted to pop in and say that I cannot wait to play as a fluffy fox girl!
Also, Happy new year everyone!
I keep coming to the forums hoping for the announcement to be made. WE WANT VULPERA!!!
Without Vulpera, why play wow? I’d buy a lifetime sub for 5,000 rupees (If we got vulpera)
I just got merrah’s music box from the vulpera paragon chest. She sings the dolly and dot song from it.
Major same here. I am so game for playing my awesome fox.
I’d probably start subbing for more than a month again if they became playable.
I fear the vulpera will come with 8.3, so like, early next year if we’re lucky.
And here is mine!
For the adorable little foxies <3
Edit: Also this needs to be the Vulpera attack animation.
Will we discover the original home of the Vulpera? And possibly get to visit where they come from and learn more about their ancestry and heritage? Will we be instrumental in helping reunite them with their kin, and watch their relatives welcome them home? I sure hope so.
I’d like to discover more about the Vulpera before playing as them. Most of the races of original wow had entire cultures, sweeping histories and signature aesthetics, glimpsed through the intriguing story lines in the warcraft games - which more than helped to strengthened their place as our playable races. Some time later, the inclusion of new playable races also benefited from having a established presences, personalities and histories in the game, such as Goblins and Worgen. The Nightborn, Highmountain Tauren and Draenor Orcs and eventually the Zandalari also have a treasure trove of stories and connections with the current playable races as well as being heavily and importantly rooted in Azeroth’s history. I hope the same for the Vulpera, please.
Blizzard has proven with storylines and art such as those from the snowy Taunka and Tuskkar tribes, the wise and shadowy Arakkoa, the embolden Quilboar and the harmonious Pandaren that special stories and unusual natures that shine in our neighboring races, are some of the best. I would be honored and excited to be given the chance to play as one of these special races. Including the Vulpera.
The thought still remains, however, that while playing as a Vulpera, you still don’t really know that much about them. That’s why I’d like to find out more, first, through a grand experience and friendship and learning about who they truly are and where they come from. Through exploring their ancestry, culture, history, and establishing a bond with them through a shared experience, as we are with the Zandalari Trolls and earlier the Nightborn, we will pave the way for their entrance into the Horde and eventually as playable characters. I want their inclusion to come from a place of meaning, purpose and intent so that their presence as a playable race, as well as on Azeroth, is strong, realized and developed well.
Thanks for reading! Be quick, be clever! Peace all!
