There was no guarantee that any of the mounts would be able to fly, especially the book.
Would be weird if only the tome was able to fly and the rest of the mounts couldnt.
Voted for the tree, we have plenty of cat mounts, i would have been ok with catepillar, the nerubian just felt like it was going to be reskinned Nazmir mount, while i would be ok with the tome its too mage’y imo

99.8% chance it won’t.
Aside from bugs/glitches, I’ve never seen an Ancient fly in-game.
Can a fire mage mount it?

To be fair I’ve never seen an ancient be ridden by presumably by opening it up for a game mount but be ridden by any player race. I vote they should just have it fly otherwise lame.
Make the tree campfire flammable.

The mount could fly if Blizzard wanted it to; making it grow leaf wings wouldn’t be out of the realm of ridiculous for them. But why does it have to be a flying mount? If it’s not ultra-utilitarian you people just won’t use it? That’s exactly why they took water walking away from the strider mounts.
There’s a WQ in new Darkshore where the player rides one.
Anyhow I’m still thankful for the +1 to my mount count, but still a bit salty.

I don’t have a twitter account and whatnot. Still seems highly unlikely that Blizzard would go to the trouble when, I imagine anyway, it would be way easier to just use their existing assets and come up with a cute/cool way the tree carries us around.
Free mount is free mount though.
If Blizz reads this though…please please please please please at least make the Horde version a burnt/charred version…maybe even do something clever like have the Sylvanist loyalist folks have the burnt/charred version while the good horde gets a half burned and the alliance gets a full and glorious healthy tree…
Hmmm makes sense I skipped those WQs just the heroic warfronts I recall the WQs seemed aloof in comparison to like the other WQs and or dailies to me.
The cat which there are quite a few of already would have been the most boring. That or the stupid caterpillar.

Guarantee? True there was no guarantee especially since we weren’t given even mock ups of the mounts (or even a mob that it would be most similar to).
The tome’s description though said it was flying though. I think it would have been far less likely it somehow lost it’s flying powers just cause.
My 2nd choice was Nerubian also because I could see us getting a flying variant but figured odds would be much higher it would be like Anub Arak or one of the weird spider-ish ground variants…by far the coolest but for me, flying > all.
Like until Blizz adds like pixie dust or something that lets us use any mount as a flying mount, all of my ground mounts will live unused except for the vendor yak…

Oh idk maybe because it was literally called the Soaring Spelltome? Maybe just maybe that’s why people think it would fly?
Congrats to those who wanted the ancient. I still think a flying book would have been far cooler and more unique though. xD
