"Vote to Kick" for Party Finder Promotes Negativity, Consider This Instead

Thank god you’re not a game designer.

the hostage thing existed BECAUSE of the timeout in the first place.
Remove the time out…let the clown who wants to exit leave and you have no hostage situation.
you dont want to be in my group? I shouldnt have to deal with you being there if you want to leave.
Remove the timeout…it serves no purpose.

As it is right now the REAL abuse here IS the vote kick and how its being used to disrupt other players game time.

Keep up what you all are doing.
Keep kicking as daddy bliz says ‘for any reason’…and see if it doesnt get changed soon enough.

Rules change BECAUSE of abuses.
you know that, correct?

Correct, the rules implemented with vote to kick in patch 3.3 were to combat hostage behavior, to not allow people to just sit down and refuse to cooperate with their group (and hope to wait out getting others to leave first and get the debuff) so the group was given the power to remove the offenders from sabotaging and abusing 4 other people. I’m glad you understand.

Blizzard gave us the agency back in patch 3.3, but ok sure. :joy:

It takes a majority vote to remove someone. Like I said, redesign the pop-up so that NO is more prominent or the obvious choice for “lazy” people who just click whatever’s convenient to remove the pop-up, but if the majority of the group votes to kick you, then 9 times out of 10 the reason is justified by Blizzard’s rule. The entire purpose of vote to kick is to give the players agency over their grouping with random players. Most people complaining it was unfair are either…

  1. Clueless
  2. Bending the story for the forums a bit to look innocent, claim they did “nothing”
  3. are here to complain because they don’t like that they were removed simply because the majority of the group didn’t want them there, and they can’t accept it because their feelings are hurt
  4. Legitimately kicked for a stupid reason, but that’s on the other 3 people in the group for clicking YES - so, redesign the pop-up like I mentioned

It may seem like there are threads and threads here on the forums, where 1% of the playerbase participates, but… it’s not as widespread as this vacuum of a forum is making you believe. And if it happens to you a lot, well, you’re the common denominator…

As a side, I think adding something in that keeps track of who is initiating kicks and how often is fine. Because on the other side of that coin, if someone is initiating kicks multiple times a day for the lols, they are the common denominator. But even that can be abused if someone is truly malicious.

We the players should have agency over who we are grouped with when interacting with the game’s built-in random grouping systems. There’s no perfect abuse-free system, and since 3.3, the vote to kick system proves to be the best choice for the majority of situations.

we’re done here…Im not readiing some long drawn out excuse for YOU to ABUSE other players by kicking them for no valid reason…you just AINT worth my time.

Keep abusing the kick…and WE will keep telling blizzard it needs changed…lets see who wins out here

the timeout ISNT necessary…period.

that sound you just heard was me ignoring yet another kick abuser.

This is the predictable response I expected of you. :joy: I’ve never kicked anyone nor voted to kick anyone for anything other than legitimate reasons, AND I provided a solution to “people just click yes to close the pop-up” to improve the situation, but your predictable knee-jerk reaction to continue filling your ignore list with people who don’t agree with you is hilarious. Enjoy your vacuum! :purple_heart:

Whether you like it or not:

And I promise Blizz has actual data to back up how the VTK system works for the majority of situations vs. the anecdotal whining of a forum bully.

This sounds way too much like a job for a starting position requiring 5 years of experience.

There’s a big difference between an open world leveling experience and healing a group of people in a dungeon or raid. Even then, the way you heal changes with each group and each dungeon, or raid.

There’s really only one way for people to learn competently and that’s through experience.

The idea that someone who isn’t max level is getting kicked, “for reasons”. is absurd. The rest of the party’s time is no less valuable than your time when it comes to playing, and all kicking really does is slow everything down.

People keep parroting Blizzard’s generic responses like a annoying parrot.

-Squawk- Kick for any reason. -Squawk-

Then they parrot.

-Squawk- It must be your fault you got kicked. -Squawk-

I’m done with with these forums. Im done with the game too.

They defend the ‘for any reason’ crap it to justify THEIR bad behavior.
NO ONE HERE actually believes its ok to trash another persons game time REGARDLESS of Blizzard plugging their ears with that chilidsh ‘any reason’ crap so they arent culpable for players behaving badly.

Blizzard at the very least should say that kicking someone for NO GOOD REASON IS BAD PLAYER BEHAVIOR…even if they wont do anything about it.

That joke…garbage…POINTLESS social contract clearly isnt getting that point across to the malcontents in this community who get a kick of knowing theyre costing someone more than half hour of their game time with a bogus kick.

Personally Id prefer seeing some bans over the behavior.

Well, bye then.

Absolutely nothing akin to my statement.
I never mentioned caring about or kicking anyone.
If i were to pick who i care about Itʻs more that i care about every player kicked, especially those kicked maliciously.

I just think it is rather disingenuous that they only say “remove” when there is absolutely more to it.

Yes that’s what I said, you care more about the one person disrupting four other peoples experiences getting kicked, than the four people who had their experience disrupted first by the one who got kicked

Let a bunch of detention kids police the game. That’s going to go well

given that group has perpetually reminded us theyre ALLOWED to kick for ANY reason…NO reason…its quite laughable that NOW that one is pretending they kick only for disruptive behavior. lol

Some of them have literally bragged about kicking for no good reason
