Oof, sorry for your loss there, I hate pugging, i only pug on dps for that reason lol
The problem of uldaman is the way tanks are pulling this week, its too slow, maybe cause they are undergeared
There’s a couple rough pulls in there, but most pulls are find to double/triple, but there is some needed interrupts and the last packs kind of need a priest to pull a lot, that debuff sucks, it needs a stacking limit.
There are a few things I have learned, one is when one or more DPS is doing less than tank level DPS or lower within the first few minutes, I just leave.
And two is when a tank is being dumb, pulling too small or too big, pulling the wrong mobs or taking some fudge awful route, like going left in Bracken, I just leave. I don’t care, I can just go back to my tank spec and get into any group I want.
But what I learned over the years, we are not carries unless paid for it. Carrying someone who is decent is fine, but carrying someone whose key it is, and who is straight up dead weight, in many dungeons they are more of a hindrance than useful.
And carrying someone when there is a chance of not getting loot and going so slow that you don’t even get a score for the dungeon, yeh, not worth it at all.
You have the beast things, they can bite the tank and really do a lot of damage. Than the infinite somethingarather that does the stacking debuff, the interrupts, the bolstering that can generally wreck your day.
There is just too much in that place on fort bolstering week that hurts when you pull big that you need to manage your pulls.
VP is only hard if people don’t know the fights. I think the trash right before the last boss and the trash before the first boss can be obnoxious on bolstering/fort, but otherwise, the dungeon as a whole really isn’t bad and is on the easier side after the nerfs to the dragon boss. It’s just a matter of people knowing the mechanics and properly executing them.
I love healing two downwind dps for the entire fight. ![]()
You can skip the 2nd dragon and the first set of orbs by simply walking around them.
We haven’t had any issue with VP yet, but we’re still running single-digits. The only ones people are groaning about running are Halls and Under rot at that level.
Did a 14 VP earlier this week and managed to clear it in time. It’s rough but not too bad if people know what they are doing.
Every option matters, because as you eluded to, certain groups have strengths/weaknesses that require re-speccing to ovecome. If your group has massive AoE but bad ST, skipping a dragon or two and choosing another added group may be ideal.
I suppose my experience with the last boss is biased, as my two main specs are Rsham and WW monk, both of which can easily pop a CD to kill the add. It does do a lot of damage, but it’s never been the deciding factor for my runs. Suppose I also haven’t run more than a +13 VP, so that changes things…
Anyways, the dungeon needs tuning either way. I’m not confident enough to comment on the last boss’s balance, but I do know that Altrius (second boss) should NOT change wind directions during the other mech where you need to launch upwards. That’s absolutely wrong.
Vp isnt easy by anymeans compared to the rest but if everyone knows the fights is not to bad. We just timed a 17 w/ 4 minutes to spare no problem. Trash week is definately harder then boss week though for sure.
Wait until higher keys on tyrannical week, or even just higher on fort, last boss add must die because if it doesn’t, by the time you need to find safety, you are still taking AOE damage and chance having a second orb spawn, than it’s GG.
Also there is literally one dragon, and the first orbs as I just found out that you can skip without any special tricks, like invis or warlock gate or something. Other than that you need to kill everything else for %.
If you choose to skip the first dragon and possibly the first orbs, you must kill the second dragon and that means you are either going around the first one to get the adds on the other side, it’s far faster just to kill that dragon and skip the second one.
That’s half the issues with VP, you can skip like 2-3 packs and if you don’t do it correctly by the end you will be under % and need to run all the way back.
So also…bring ranged DPS. T_T
Yeah I’m not a huge fan of this element.
Lol I love VP
Dont worry they have all available employees working on the dungeons and tuning them on a daily basis, just look at the hotfixes meanwhile anything in the outside world or older content gets completly ignored
Pretty much my experience… And for some reason my key seems to only rotate trough VP, and either of the two “Neltarion” dungeons.
But back to the point I did a 17, 19, 19 and 20 VP on my Disc Priest and yeah the Drakes are absolutely nasty, and I think the Sparks are even worse. And in general even the more “normal” trash pulls are rough and have mobs chunking players for like 70-80% HP on a regular basis (unavoidable too).
I think in general the mobs feel overtunned, some of your “normal” pulls are borderline to the level of how the “difficult” pulls from some of the other dungeons feel, and then you get to the Drakes and Sparks and it’s like you need to burn every CD and every defensive to maybe survive.
Skill issue. Nothing in VP is that scary with the HP/damage values of a 16 at this point in the season.
VP has simple mechanics but they are VERY punishing if not done correctly. The good thing is that in another week or two most people will finally understand them and stop trying to zerg the place, and it should get better. It’s still annoying AF design-wise and I hate the dungeon, but there are worse this season so far.
Only hard boss is the last one, and that’s mostly taken care of by swapping to the add immediately. It doesn’t have an obscene amount of health IMO (certainly better than pre-nerf totem on last boss of BH), and now that they added in a hilariously over the top spell effect for static cling that mechanic should be less of a problem.
Indeed it does, VP is such a mess in its current state, makes you wonder how it got past testing for the average players instead of top 5%.
