Poor guy can’t hold threat to save his life. Anyone else having issues with this or did I win the Voidwalker wimp Olympics? Also, Drain Life seems to have slipped through the cracks with scaling and doesn’t heal worth a turnip’s backside. Put the two together and it’s been a rough go. I feel it’s also worth noting that Affliction DPS is… extremely lackluster. It takes way too long to kill even the simplest of mobs.
Voidwalker is hit or miss. I find that the Purge & Interrupt usually results in better defensives anyway.
Drain Life is definitely feeling lackluster though. Even with Soulburn. It’s intentional though, they did global changes for many specs to gimp their self-healing.
its ok this happens to the vw at that start of every xpac and gear/stats will normalize the demon after you make some progress. i leveled to80 without the vw because i knew hed be usless lol
Try it with the imp or doge if you’re face tanking or pulling threat then. Don’t forget to use that fear as crowd control and use soulburn for a slightly empowered lifedrain too! Just keep in mind that you’ll want to use it at a little bit higher HP than normal since it isn’t that much better with soulburn active.
Primary pet damage is simply undertuned right now so the voidwalker can’t even hold threat in pure single target. It’s normally kinda bad at the start of an xpac but this feels far worse than usual.
Yeah our poor Blueberry is broken at the moment. I’ve just been running with the Pupper and relying on fear more on the few occasions things don’t melt. Even after the mob scaling retune Aff still feels pretty good.
Now? i don’t think I’ve seen this thing successfully hold agro since WotLK
I used affliction and void walker the entire time basically… Sure he doesn’t HOLD aggro, but he definitely gets it and gives me plenty of time to free cast before I do get aggro.
Much more useful questing and leveling than any other pet.
same i levled as demo tbh the felguard is by far better and Diabolist made it fun since the demons just 1 shot everything it feels like
IMO I think the Warlocks Pets should be taken a look at a bit… its seems we are mostly always using the same pets almost in every situation.
Even Demonologist who are suppose to basically be the Master Demon Summoner has talent line fully dedicated to our Fel/Warth Guard even giving us a LAST talent an ability ONLY useable when that specific pet is out… you can’t even use it if you get the temp Fel/Warth Guard Summon… or if your using another Demon like Voidwalker.
It would have been cool that that specific line of talents with Demonology dedicated to the Fel/Warth Guard would actually change depending on your Demon Summoning Choice. (IMO)
But yeah I notice the Voidwalker seem lacking… then again both in Affliction and in Destruction I use tome of Sacrifice and only use Demon Pets with Demonologist…and I use Fel/Warth Guard since even if you now have the option to not spec fully or at all in it… I still feel like mandatory… sigh, I miss you my Dark Apotheosis.
Admittedly, my warlock is an alt but VW threat was so lacking that I assumed I was missing something, like i’d turned it off or was expected to use some form of misdirect ability. I’d at least be curious to hear from Blizzard about what their expectation is of VW pets because at the moment, they seem to be largely pointless?
I can’t claim to have had any issues with it. Every now and then depending on gearing and such I will sometimes steal aggro but if I pause for 2 seconds he steals it right back.
VW can’t hold threat to Wither. Horrible minion.
Using Succy atm. Slows mobs so I can kill before they reach me.
Imp and puppy dies too easily - have to hard cast in instances cuz FelDom on CD. On large AoE pulls I’m pet less because of their deaths. So I sac.
This is a big problem. All they have going for them at the moment is taunt on cooldown to force aggro for a few seconds.
Felguard is in much better shape because a lot of demo’s threat is offloaded to individual pets, plus felguard does more damage, plus felguard has interrupt. The issues with voidwalker are a strong incentive not to play two of the specs for me, at least for solo content.
I also think warlock sustain should be revisited, in part because health funnel is so costly, and because warlocks are now more reliant on a pet to draw aggro away from them than usual due to how useless drain soul is.
Yeah the voidwalker needs looked at because he is really really bad. RiP the Blueberry.
Same - My lock is almost 580, and I don’t have this issue. I do 500-600k dps single target, and it tanks the bosses in Delves. Not sure if they scale up better as you get higher ilvl, but this isn’t an issue for me.
Oddly enough as I’ve gained levels over 71 or 72 (that toon is 77 or 78 now) I have run into this. It is an effort to avoid stealing aggro. Just been running the campaign, no instances.
I feel bad when I see Alliance Warlocks with the blueberry and I can’t just tell them that he’s broken. Language barrier needs to go lol
I have no problem with my voidwalker. Keep in mind that some mobs in the game are immune to their taunts.
You are part of the problem when the rest of us trying to get things fixed.
There is no way youre the only lock just having a great time with not having decent self heals, then having to deal with a pet that cant hold aggro on any mobs and dies quickly.
I am happy that Blizz made mobs harder, but not being able to survive due to poor design is just no fun.
I want to see you do the special assignment quest: Cinderbee Surge and pull 2 or more cinderbee workers without dying or pulling other mobs while running for your life because VW wont keep threat and you cant heal
