Making it permanent would be better, and make it point that they are NOT High elves.

I see no problem with it at all. People who like the visual can keep it. Those who don’t can turn it off or make it less obnoxious. I’ve personally never even been a fan of it even for the Void theme because i think EE is just very unappealing.
If you do not like the void theme in void elves then maybe it is not the race for you.
Cross faction is around the corner and blood elves would be a solid choice for your rp needs.
I mean, some of them do look off. I don’t think Blizzard played with the tentacles enough with the hair styles. The best one is the short hair with the tentacle ‘crown’.
Like the long ponytail over the shoulder one is pretty lame looking to me. It’s just… there…

I have a priest.
However, I very much rolled a Void Elf for the Void aesthetic. They really dropped the ball on skin color choices for us, (where are our greys/blacks?), and the tentacles look horrible.
I do agree we could use more void elf skin tones. Like of the voidy kind.
I rather like the tentacles though. 
The unstable nature of the void and being infused with it is part of being a void elf.
Void elves are not high elves.

It’s like picking a Horde Undead and asking to remove the “undead” so that they look identical to Alliance humans.
Something tells me they missed the point of the race entirely.

Since really, we know a toggle would be to let people pretend the Alliance got High Elves, I am going to say “no”. I hope that Void Elves remain Void Elves, and High Elves, that is to say Blood Elves, remain exclusive to the Horde.
Sorry, but it is. Blizz has already introduced Non Void options that people said would NEVER happen. I don’t think an option to turn off or change the effect of Entropic Embrace is too far off. These customziation options are to represent High Elves 
Yeah, like they are gonna waste resources on that when cross faction is gonna be a thing.
You should be able to make it permanent or disable it depending on your personal taste.
Visuals that strong should have more personal choice IMO.
As long as we’re asking, I would like different visual options as well. Like a Black Void color or more Blue.
Ivory and Charcoal would be amazing. One of the first things I asked for after it became clear they only had 6 skin colors.
They where kind of tacked on at the last minute to make them more unique.
They should keep the toggle in mind going forward and make them fit the hair styles better.

i think regardless of where you stand on the helf and velf debate having an option to have the racial visual up at all times or not at all isn’t that big of a deal. Even on my void elves that use the void skins and tentacles i hate entropic embrace

Absolutely this, and moonkin form for druids. i wanna see mogs on my character not be covered up
it already is a racial proc. sounds like you want a more voidier skin
