Night elves are wood elves.
Fun fact Night Elves were originally going to be Dark Elves before Blizzard decided to get creative and them purple and blue Wood Elves instead
Think blood elves also fit that bill.

depends on perspective of dark elves, cause night elves might be the closest one, considering if we go by DnD’s perspective.
mostly highborne mindset at first, and a goddess (elune) altered the views of said elves, making them more into what they are now (cause in a way, there is two dark elves types, the cruel slavers, and the rare kind gentle ones that is friendly to everyone)
Ehh OG Kaldorei are the closest to Drow IMO the first evolution from Dark Trolls.

The kind that’s friendly to everyone includes Lorendrow who are the counterpart to the Night Elves.
The other type of Good Drow are Aevendrow who spend time in Icy Cities and Svartalfheim Drow who live in a Cavernous Realm in the literally endless cave of Nidavellir one of the 3 Layers(Universes) of the Plane of Ysgard.
The closest thing to Nightborne and Highborne are Moon Elves and Star Elves story-wise.
Void Elves are closest to Shadar-kai AKA Shadow Fey/Shadow Elves(Elves corrupted by the Plane of Shadow).

If you want to just ignore the farstriders, than sure, they only take inspiration from high elves.

That makes sense… Posts a topic about “Void Elves are dark,” yet plays a Void Elf character that looks identical to a Blood Elf… The hypocrisy is real.
