I think neither would feel as bad if they didn’t came back to back, you know? Void Elves have a very thin and shoddy set up, barely any identity, but as an Allied Race they do offer something the alliance didn’t have in terms of aesthetics.
LFD on the other hand have a much richer backstory and set up, like I get why they exist as a group and I think in contrast they can allow the Draenei to focus less on their own light aspects so that’s neat (more shamanism, artificers, mages), but as an AR race they don’t offer anything that couldn’t be a customization option.
And having introduced these two together, their flaws are just more evident.
i really enjoyed your discussion in this thread and your later disappearance once void elves hair colors came in august 27th, ty for the chuckles. where did you moved on? not void elf paladins threads?
Some new hairstyles would be great. We need some variety. Even if it was some human or night elf hairstyles ported over to void elves. That would be good. A lot of them would fit well.
Agreed. The only reason I’d want BE ones above is because they would be the easies to port since the models are the same. But if I had a choice, I really would prefer either Human or Night Elven hairstyles.
TBH I just like the idea that their hairstyles would be influenced by the cultures they spend time with (also giving Nightborne BE hair styles in the same manner.)
Honestly, I think we should first receive voidy options, we’ve already had enough regular customizations for the time being.
That said, I’d like some “normal” or regal-looking hairstyles, Farstrider-like tattoos, and perhaps magical facial runes. More variety of jewelry would be great as well. And males should have the option to wear jewelry and make up too, it’s 2022 already, Blizz.
A little late to the party, but it is still wonderful to hear that Blizzard is going down the route that will be expanding Void Elves to acquire things like Demon Hunter and Paladin. This has been a long time coming, and has been logical since the beginning.
It also pleases me that Blizzard is continuing down the path that they have implied, showing that it is indeed their ideology. Void Elves are justified in their replication of the Blood Elf customization because they are the same race (High Elf) and thus are allowed to share.
The Void theme would forever be exclusive to Void Elves of course, as is logical. And the expanding of the Light theme onto Blood Elves would provide them with their exclusive theme to ensure a sliver (albeit unnecessary) of “visual uniqueness” for the few that think that is important.
Yeah. Golden eyes are a thing. Blood Elves doing Blood Magic and getting Light customizations is still weird. But they do have their own direction they’ve been going since BFA.
They don’t use blood magic. They use arcane to control arcane “blood”. It’d be like saying the elves using magic on the Well of Eternity are using blood magic just because the well is full of Titan blood. However, that titan blood is arcane not the blood used in life/death based magic.
Blood Elves are going down the path of Light theme. That has been the case since TBC.
