Void Elf-High Elf Customization Thread

Actually, it says both are Co-Leaders from Wowpedia.

  • Magister Umbric Co-leader of the void elves, once a magister of Quel’Thalas until he and his followers were exiled for tampering with the Void

  • Alleria Windrunner Co-leader of the void elves and heroine of the Second War

no, its doesnt. I copied and pasted that directly as an excerpt. Stop glancing at the right-wing TLDR; panel which is user-edited.

here’s an excerpt from the ‘void elf’ entry as a race:

“Void elves (or ren’dorei, “children of the Void” in Thalassian)[1] are a race of Void-infused elves affiliated with the Alliance. Their origins lie with a group of blood elves led by Magister Umbric who were exiled from Silvermoon City because of their research into the Void”

or just literally google, “who leads the void elves”; tell me what you see big and bold.

Alleria was a HIGH ELF that absorbed dark naruu powers in a relatively controlled setting (locus walker). Umbric and his followers were BLOOD ELVES who were corrupted by the nether-prince in a uncontrolled setting, causing them to be corrupted far more. This is why Alleria remains visually unaffected, while the rest are purple (hence the outrage for white skin and blonde hair). There are similarities duh, but Umbric and his people are like the children of the forest in Robin Hood; they already have a distinct leader, but Robin Hood (being a similar outcast like them) teaches and guides them to be better at what they do. Regardless, Robin Hood is not there leader. Alleria is not the void-elf leader.

Please stop grasping at straws. It does nobody any good. This game is suffering like crazy because of delusional people. Dont encourage it.

So you think people would just nonchalantly log in to edit them right now just to prove that you are wrong? Come on. You know that’s just really stretching.

There is nothing wrong with people wanting natural hair colors. Whether Alleria is co-leader or not, it still stands that she is still a void elf that keeps her natural hair colors intact.

And the devs are just following that logic that many pro- high elf fans have claimed about the matter of void elf customization.

The in-game dialogue did say Alleria said she’d teach them how to control the void. So maybe they figured out to gain back their original state without being fully painted by void skins and hair.

I mean, they DID get their peachy skin and blue eyes back. So maybe hairs have returned too?

This news is rather a surprise and big news for us too, and it is just another QoL and more extension of customizations that people want from certain races.

Kinda moot at this point isn’t it?

Sure, but she’s unique (so far) and player void elves weren’t made that way.

Be nice if they’d actually say that. Put it in the game. That’s all I’m asking for.

Again, sure but it’s not canon yet.

no, but i noticed some clown who edited the right-TLDR pane also put Umbric as Alleria’s student. So they called her his leader in the same panel as some poorly-utilized synonym.

That line of reasoning is clearly moronic considering Alleria is Locus Walkers student, and he’s certainly not the leader of the void elves.

you just ignored an entire paragraph i gave you to try and explain to you why Alleria is NOT like the other void elves, and thus why SHE and SHE ALONE retains her normal colors. Hiding behind “b-but its just what people want” isn’t an argument for us ignoring clearly distinctive lore for the sake of “muh feelings”

Again, regular orcs are GREEN for a very big and important reason. We’re not going to overlook said reason and just let people make brown regular orcs because it looks cool.

even if she was this would amount to no guarantee of anything, after all. Jaina IS the KT Humans leader, do they have her skin model? Sylvanas was the Forsaken leader for most of the game. Does the Forsaken PC looks like her?

And so on and so fort. the EXCLUSIVE model of UNIQUE characters does not a customization support.

Let me tell you something, don´t waste your time with them. You´re dealing with “muh way of the highway” mentality people in here, and they will degenerate into baiting, gaslighting, name calling and insults if you contradict their claims long enough. They don´t care for the reasons, they just care for looking like their WC3 RP dream and nothing else.

Regardless on how many good arguments you post, at the end they will make a “NUH, U!!” post and try to gang on you to ridicule your posts, so… don´t bother. With some luck 9.1.5 will come quick enough and we will be free from these people´s presence on this kind of threads.

You are basically trying to make a “People’s” magazine page count quality of void elf lore to say that is good enough to prevent others from getting customization that they want?

I guess best option is to have devs to make lore about how void elves get natural hairs and have high elf form in tact then. Does that satisfy you then? Since you keep brining up lore and story at this point.

Let’s just have devs write a lore story based on that then.

Sigh … you people. My hands are getting tired of saying the same crap over and over.

Alleria looks DIFFERENT than void elves because she is a HIGH ELF, and the rest are BLOOD ELVES who were much more exposed to the void corruption than she was.

Sylvanas looks smexy as an undead because she was a HIGH ELF before Arthas, while the rest of the forsaken are HUMANS and thus falling apart as victims to time and the decay of death.

Jaina is a Kul Tiran and looks the way she does (normal). The playable Kul Tiran character model is a DRUSTVAR Kul Tiran, denoted as being stronger, heartier, and much thicker than the rest of their countrymen. This is literally in the BFA MSQ lore to explain this difference.

oh wow, god forbid people want the races in the game to follow the lore that describes how they look. But yeah, you would prefer the devs to change everything for who exactly? People who need the world to bend, conform and twist to satisfy their whims?

Yes.

Though I’d hope to see it in game.

My favorite avenue is that they’ve recovered enough of the ritual that made Umbric’s lot into void elves to combine that with Locus-Walker’s knowledge (and Alleria’s path) to make a much quicker process that relatively safely infuses the void into them.

Have em come out the other side with a random assortment of void elf customization options.

Will still have to deal with whispers and constant chance of falling.

You say that like that makes them physiologically different.

i say that because blood elves DO NOT LOOK LIKE HIGH ELVES

their eyes and hair color are what literally distinguishes them …

Christ someone save me from this pit of hell.

I mean, they made a story about completely about “let your grudge go from killing thousands of Night Elves” from the goddess that they worshipped for thousands of years, and few Allied Race like Void Elf with the requirement from Argussian Reach (which the faction has no full affiliation to whatsoever, and they are full of Broken Draeneis). What makes you think they aren’t going to to write anything that they can think from their head?

I am sure they’ll figure something out to add into the story to help us settle that lore that you are claiming about.

you mean ‘change the lore’*

that’s the problem and the entire point to all this bantering.

we dont want them to CHANGE the lore because people want superficial crap. Keep playing this card and I’ll go full troll demanding pink orcs.

Go ahead? I mean, they’ll probably agree to it, and plenty of others will want it too. I am not even kidding. There has been Moknathal supporters to get that skin color for green Orcs.

They’re the same damn thing, the only difference is a political disagreement, Alleria looks different because she’s a freaking special character that got her own model.

Please. Enlighten us all how holding your breath and going “NO! I’m not gonna change my name to honor our dead!” turns you into a different race or changes your appearance in any way.

You are still going off a user-edited wiki. Now explain why Alleria is a Ranger-General and Umbric is a Magister IN THE GAME ITSELF!

Magisters are trash mobs of blood elves we have slaughtered by the hundreds while there has been only one Ranger General who is a current raid boss.

Yeah because blood elves aren’t affected by fel (their green eyes) due to their utter addiction to magic.

you really dont understand the lore. Just stop trying to get involved until you do your homework.

Why are you facepalming at Tarrok? he’s literally was trying to side with you about the “natural hair colors for void elves shouldn’t be a thing” in a way, but the way you are arguing is getting really silly and ridiculous.
