I think it’s that way for certain people not all people, I mean I am a staunch defender of the Horde, Horde races and my own race of Blood Elves because all I ever see these days is Alliance players, Void Elf players and High Elfers trying to take away more and more or our racial identity and they mask it behind stupid reasoning like because they want it or they should have the same options as Blood Elves/High Elves but on Alliance side because they don’t want to play Horde side.
But Blood Elves are a Horde race. So we got Blood Elf customization.
I just mean the eye color thing. I feel like it’s much more of a visual game shorthand and that in universe that the political stuff is the big thing, and wondering how much lore there is to the idea that the elves put any sort of importance to the eye color difference
What else is new.
The saddest part is that it isn’t even a male belf >.<
You’d be surprised how many think that not only did VEs not receive adequate an deal but feel BEs got too much.
This in between their takes on why they hate Blood Elves, why they make no sense Horde, etc
It’s just a lot between many other things, I’m happy for the people who are happy and content with things as is and respect that they respect fans of other races.
Actually High Elves are the Horde race because Blood Elves are High Elves renamed so the person that wrote that post is clueless about WoW lore.
In this case probably none, I mean in WoW lore your eye color is affected by what you do in the lore like if you use frost magic they will be blue, if you use fel magic they will be green, if you use arcane magic they will be purple and so on and so on.
Pretty close. High Elves were on the Alliance, transitioned to the Horde and renamed themselves Blood Elves (but remain High Elves, now with a new name) on the Horde.
It’s all very muddy.
We got 3 new blue eye colors we should have had all along, a few new hairstyles on both males and females and jewelry that only female characters can use, I hardly consider that fair at all especially given Blood Elves are a core race and other races like Humans and Void Elves got more than we did and Void Elves aren’t even a core race they are an allied race.
As a side note, I’ll express my support for balancing the scales since it’s simply wrong to have a single AR to cut in line before every other.
As such, I believe it’s fair to give Nightborne some Night Elven skins, of course, including the options the Night elves got in the last batch of customizations.
That is fair, yes? That should not tamper with the uniqueness of a core race, right?
You’d be shocked then how many HE fans try to push that jewelry that’s locked to one gender and blue eye color like we really won the game with it.
My fairness scale and sense of feeling bad for other fans has moved on to Void Elf fans who like the Void aspects of their race, and I see them in very much similar ways I see Blood Elf fans being shafted.
Getting war flashbacks to the time when certain someone continued to claim tattoos were a High Elf exlusive thing and Blood Elves didn’t deserve them
/Eyetwitch
I think… I think that has also happened in this thread earlier at the top.
Which also bothers me because HE fans are all about sharing and advocating for model exclusivity not mattering… so which is it now all of a sudden you feel the sharing shouldn’t be had? A JOKE
I would love that, tbh. Nightborne should get thinner eyes (I think we ALL agree on that), and I personally would love to see them inherit Night Elf options.
If only NB had access to the Druid class… I would probably main Horde lol
You should have seen this long ago… “Sharing” is only good if it means them taking something for their side.
You know: “What’s Mine is mine, and what’s yours… it’s also mine.”
They only like sharing when it means stealing the blood elf model and letting the alliance use it. They’re the biggest group of hypocrites I’ve ever seen. Truly terrible people, too. They abused the forums when they were newly implemented and would get people banned by mass reporting them because they disareed…so petty.
I have said this a ton of times as well, I mean people love saying that Blood Elves and Void Elves should share all options because they are the same race, so why shouldn’t Night Elves and Nightborne because they are the same race as well. Haha.
Until my male Blood Elf Demon Hunter can use the jewelry options it’s not going to fly with me as a win because I’m never going to use them on my female Blood Elves like this one, furthermore Blood Elves and Blood Elf players already got shafted and so did a bunch of other players and core race players to give Void Elves and Void Elf players stuff and they shouldn’t have got it anyway because core races were supposed to be the focus not allied race and I say allied race because it was only the one.
This is the vibe I get really now a days, its very sharing wasn’t the goal, because Blood Elves didn’t get shared love during core race customizations. The goal was to use a thinly veiled advocacy of sharing that was meant to be skewed one way
Are you going to twist a quote from me for the rest of time?
I brought up facial hair, you said it wasn’t fair compensation for void elf skin color, and I agreed with you. Blood Elves didn’t get more facial hair in exchange for void elf skin colors. So please stop taking a line out of context over and over.
How is that, that?
It is a good example of skewed sharing, Blood Elves received nothing but lackluster customizations as well as core races as a whole during a period core races were the focus.
I honestly don’t care, I find night elves ugly anyway and it still bothers me to see Nightborne around because they still remind me too much of nelves and I don’t like it.
But hey, fair it’s fair…
But what would be amusing would be to see the hypocrisy that would take place when calls about how “a core race has been stolen!” emerge.
