Void Elf Customization Thread (Ascension of the Ren'dorei) (Part 1)

If I could share the Velf hairstyles (and colors) to belfs I would.

I’m definitely in favor of lending the Blood Elves our hairstyles, it’s the least we could do! :hugs:

They’ve got so many great themes that could be utilized too. Hopefully the devs will go off of the fantastic requests and concept art the players have provided for them

I had the purple Valentines dress on my Warlock. Logged in today to see it forcibly removed from my character! Holiday mogs never did that before. She looked good in it. https://i.imgur.com/3o7kOxs.png

So gorgeous! I really wish we could Mog those Valentines day dresses year round… :sob:

Why would anyone want it to just be more subtle? That looks awful. Is that made for the high elf players? They don’t want any of that purple nonsense, period. No exceptions no compromise like that. Only serves to anger people more. Now, was it made for void elves? I don’t think so. It just dissolves the void theme more. It’s a strange concept that makes no one happy. I hope nobody ends up taking that seriously.

They always did for me. Once the holiday is over, poof, gone. Unless you don’t log in that is.

We’ll never get “real” alliance high elves through the void elves.

Do like everyone else, either you are an “Umbric” void elf, or you are an “Alleria” void elf, or do your high elf RP.

You have the choice. :hugs:

Could be a number of reasons.

I’ve heard tell that for some the blue of EE can hurt their eyes for instance, so a lighter form of it isn’t a bad idea.

On the flip side a always on option is nice for those who want that as a skintone option, but I can understand Blizzard maybe not wanting to add it as a skin tone. So that option would be excellent as a inbetween.

This thread is unconcerned for the high elf players options. Thats the business of high elf threads. Not this thread.

Given you do not care for void elves, or speak for their players, please don’t assume their wants or needs.

There is only one poster in this thread at the moment I feel shouldn’t be taken seriously. Its the one who has their own thread about the things they want to talk about, and chooses instead to let it die and hang out in a thread that is not interested in their desires.

Mine always stayed on as long as I didn’t transmog that item again. Wore Halloween stuff on my DK for a long while.

Its high time Blizzard just let us transmog the holiday mogs year round.

Yep, it’s quite overdue!

The same thing happened to my Hunter, the rose in her hair was gone, and it was removed from my mog journal, so I couldn’t re-mog it, when the event was still active. I was sad.

Same, I made sure to do the extra quests to unlock the Flower Crowns to be usable year round. But it doesn’t make sense to me to not let the Holiday mog be year round, since we have mogs like the Yeti Onesie, so it’s not like it’d break the lore or anything to wear permanent Bunny ears or something, lmao.

Personally, I like the Inner Embrace concept. That way I wouldn’t have my skin and hair turn Blue or Purple (depending on the lighting). Which to be honest is something that bothered me, even before the Natural options, because I liked seeing my Purple hair, and the racial took it away, lol. The after glow on the body, that doesn’t alter your skin or hair color, is akin to the red glow that hunters get when they or their pets are empowered.

Like, let’s not forget that we are being empowered by Void magic, to do a whopping 5% increased Healing and Damage as Shadowfrost, which is a noice racial. That lets the race compete with the Horde’s racials imo.

ALSO, it’s important to know that the deep blue of the glow, is similar to a few Arcane spells and even the Anima color of Ardenweald. So an inner embrace option would allow players to RP/Head Cannon that they were being empowered by Arcane or even the Night Fae. Instead of the Void.

But you need to remember that they’ve said since SL was announced that they wanted to include more racial options into each race, for Roleplay and Player Power. Such as Sand Trolls, Wildhammer Dwarves, and so on. The High Elf like options inside of the Void Elves, are not only to let people look more like Alleria, but to also allow for those who wish to RP like a High Elf, without adding in a new race, or taking anything away from what currently exists.

Side note, is that you should remember what it feels like on these forums to advocate for High Elves. As I’ve already mentioned to you before in this thread, it often gets attacked or attracts soo much negativity. Heck, I’ve seen threads asking for new classes or options for VEs before that also get attacked because people assume it’s for High Elf stuff, even if the entire thread mentions a Void reasoning to it.

So I guess, what I’m getting at, is when you know how it feels to have that stuff happen to your requests, why would you continue to do that to other people? Like you could easily be civil about your opinions, or how you don’t like how x,y,z looks as a concept. But you’re being way too attack drone mode, and it’s not constructive or helpful to the conversation at all.

Honestly, I see no reason why we can’t share at least a couple. Before BfA several races shared hairs and it wasn’t a big deal. For instance Humans and Blood Elves share ALOT. Draenei even share a couple with Blood Elves. So I see no reason why we can’t share more hairs among all of the races. And for those who might be concerned about VEs getting all of the hairs of BEs, they could just give a couple VE hairs to Belves and then take some Human, or Kul Tiran, or even Nightborne hairs to VEs, so they don’t have all of the same ones.

But sharing is caring,

EDIT:

I would also like to add in, that they have addons that cancel select Buffs automatically for you. You can flag Entropic Embrace to cancel off of you every time it procs automatically.

You’d lose out on the 5% increases, but it’d be less immersion breaking.

I’m not sure if they’d ever offer a toggle to fully remove the visual effects, but the Inner Embrace does seem like a more realistic and reasonable thing they’d do. If I’m being honest.

The new NB and NE hairstyles would be perfect for void elves. :ok_hand:

I would like a hairstyle swap with them.

Random, but not gonna lie, I’m legit following this thread now, because I wanna see more fan concepts for things they could get, lmao.

swoons for the star cursed hair tips idea

I’m curious if 9.2.5 will also include any more customization options. I think it’s somewhat feasible considering what all we got in 9.1.5

Like, give me 'dem pink and magenta eyes. lol

I’d also like them to add in a way to get the Ren’dorei weapons at somepoint be it from a vendor or a quest chain, or what have you. I loved the addition of the Nightborne weapons into 9.1.5

EDIT:

I can’t remember if I said this yet here, but I’d also be interested in seeing Human like eyes in both Void and Blood Elves, like the 9.2 Sylvanas cinematic has, along with some of the concept art and novels for the race.

I think it makes sense, not just from the lore standpoint, but in that these elves also like to diddle humans. But to be honest I think it’d be cool to have my more magic elves use Magic eyes, and say my Hunter and Rogue, use more Human-like eyes.

Ren’dorei weapons would be amazing!

I’d like it to just be unlocked with heritage just like armor. I don’t like the limited amount of Nightborne choices we got or that it’s through timewalking.

That said unlike heritage armor I think heritage weapons should be available to all races once unlocked.

I think it will. My bet is that we’ll see the remaining ARs get their pass during it with maybe a few options to a race or two on the side.

I think like night elf faces anything not pertaining to the BfA ARs will be small.

I’m excited to see if I’m right and what races like Mechagnomes will get…

I am interested in seeing what they’d get too, but I won’t lie, I’ll be a bit disappointed if it’s only BfA ARs instead of Velf as well, since they are the only Legion AR at this point that doesn’t have options for like various ornaments or tattoos, or extra flairs. But I could easily see them not doing much for the Elves until a lot later on down the line.

Too hard to tell at this time.

I didn’t think they’d add anything to anyone during SLs… much less that we’d get a second touch.

Honestly though I’m good waiting until the other BfA AR’s are touched up. I’d even be fine if I have to wait till after the Core races get hit again.

I’ve waited this long. Whats another year?

I mean, I get that point, and it’s a good one.

I just…I don’t know, like I’m beyond ecstatic and happy about all of the customization options this xpac has brought. It just would feel weird if they didn’t give us anything else. But then again they said we wouldn’t get anything else only to then give us Nightborne, Lightforged, and High Mountain additions, with Natural Hair colors, a Tentacle Toggle, and Ear Sizes. but still idk, lol.

I remain hopeful though

Yeah, I get that and you should be hopeful.

Blizzard mismanagement of the “customization feature” of this expansion is on them.

The only reason they’ve been so uneven with customization is because they didn’t put the effort or resources to make a fair and full run.

All races should have started with equal levels of customizations added with similar setups for each bit.

Humans having their scars stuck to certain faces while night elves can set them per face? Uneven selections of eye colors? Tattoos and Warpaints?

These things should have been across the board.

Each patch should have seen items added to customization for races.

Then no one would have had to wait or feel like others got more preferential treatment.

I may be happy with waiting but by no means should I be. By no means should any of us be.

Customizations were handled immensely poorly.

Blizzard failed to see how impactful customizations were.
