Void Elf Children

We can give birth to Nightborne!

I know this is a dumb question but has anyone asked a dev from wow this? If not I could try twitter to ask. Maybe they might answer this riddle.

with the revelation that the inner child of a void elf IS a pure void being under that skin

if void elves could have offspring i imagine it would look like this

How cute is that?

Honestly, I can’t see a situation in which a void elf couple would have a pure high elf child. It doesn’t seem feasible. Corruption is different than things like curses. Orcs have green skinned children as a result of fel corruption. Blood elf children have green eyes as a result of the fel radiation the blood elves went through. To assume void elves would somehow be exempt from this is incorrect.

Memories’ a bit hazy, but it’s either at the end of the starting scenario for unlock or in Telogrus rift he has a very short statement about it… the starting scenario I think. Might’ve been removed later in BFA.

If anything the Inner child buff turning them into Void wraiths is ample proof to the contrary.

I am very surprised this isn’t a Humanbeak thread.

thralls kids have brown skin

If it’s like Bleach, then the children inherit traits/powers from their parents.

To be fair, their mother is a brown-skinned Orc.

Hopefully Void Elves can’t reproduce.

I would hope theyre just normal elves.
Because if they are void elves, then theyre going to go very insane very fast.

Try to stop me, Skinny Night Elf!

I’m not in the Discord, but I’m in the camp with option #2: the change of their blood on a cellular level, and the tendency for ALL void elves to become infused with void energies on a regular basis would suggest a total genetic transformation.

Maybe they’d birth a High Elf (or different race, for any Half Elves amongst them), but it’d definitely be an atavistic throwback or mutation, like their version of vitiligo.

does void corrupt by itself or it has to be made a corruption force thru spells, rituals and the like?

i though the void consumes, and the creatures corrupted by the void are corrupted by a third person rather than the void itself.

void elves were corrupted by a third person, rather than the void, alleria in the other hand isn’t corrupted but infused.

corrupted void elves should be infertile or have corrupted kids.

Lightforged Draenei are implied to have normal Draenei offspring.
Consider Lightforged Draenei are infused with the Light, I see no reason why the same wouldn’t be the case for Void Elves which are also infused with a cosmic force (the Void).

I’m afraid I can’t find any corroboration for this. I think you may be misremembering, or mistaking something someone on the forums hypothesized as in-game canon.

Locus Walker was never present in any part of the Void Elf unlock scenario, and the line Locus Walker says now is no different from what he said during PTR testing or when I originally unlocked Void Elves in Legion. His only dialogue has ever been:

Fascinating. I sensed that change was destined to find Alleria Windrunner. I did not anticipate that her kin would undergo a similar transformation.

This is a very old place, sculpted by the threads of fate. There is much to be learned here. I believe I might linger a while.

Be seeing you.

Relationships between elves isn’t really focused on ingame so Idk if VEs, BEs, etc… even have kids.

I never see any elf couples.

Yet, demons have demonic offspring, and plenty of them are also once-mortal races altered and changed by a cosmic force.

Clearly, we cannot judge the situation of the Void Elves by the Lightforged Draenei.

This is correct.

You can’t use demons as an example when demons have been entirely transformed into something completely new.

Draenei and High Elves being infused with their respective cosmic forces related to their subrace didn’t change them into a new creature after becoming Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves.

An Orc being transformed into a Shivarra is no longer an Orc.
A Draenei getting infused with Light/getting Lightforged is still a Draenei.
