No they shouldn’t. And I’m a veteran somewhat. Ever think they want opinions from newer players too? Of course not. Only think of yourself.
Calling yourself a veteran because you played a computer game 20 years ago makes my eye twitch.
This is a different game now. Your past experience does not make you an expert in game design.
I picked up the original Orcs vs Humans when I was in high school in 1994 and have been playing these games ever since. Been in a variety of betas over the years. We’re not entitled to beta access because of our brand loyalty.
I really think the anger over guaranteed access with an epic edition is misplaced. It’s just another perk, and frankly I think it’s a nice perk that means people who aren’t streamers can get a guaranteed access pass.
If they removed that from the epic edition, folks would still be nasty and spew bile at those who bought it. Some people just need to spread unhappiness.
I wish the beta was limited to those who give good feedback, rather than those who think it’s a reward to be earned or purchased.
It’s just they want opinions from newer players too. The market has been doing this for quite a while now. Welcome to the modern age. lol
Yeah my internal knife hand quivered.
I was here before Gutenberg mass produced Ye Olde Craft of Sundry Wars.
Back then expansions were pretty simple.
Bilden a ferme. Attacke that orc. Save the princesse. Wynne two kye. Becom champion and wedde the widowe nexte dore.
It wasn’t Blizz, it was Sweet potatoes and Sinews.
Good times. The beta though. The princess was an orc. Big oof. Had big laughs that. Many mead passed around on Discord aka the well water hole
You’ve had months to collect an extra $30 or so. If you can’t do that you shouldn’t play at all. Troll thread is troll.
Oh I’m sorry grandma Karen.
I don’t forgive you, Margaret.
I served my country (Mulgore) for almost 20 years.
Where’s my free Denny’s meal, huh?
Eww who eats at Denny’s?
The entitlement…
Call Blizz and tell them I said you can have my spot.
Yeah. In my line of work, this phase is called Acceptance Test. You cannot change the design during Acceptance Test. You can tinker around the edges. You can adjust the behavior of systems. But it’s not possible to completely re-architect systems without pushing out the delivery date. And for a whole host of reasons, the delivery date doesn’t have a whole hell of a lot of give in it.
When you are sending software out for Beta test you are not looking for long time customers, you are looking for people who are good with testing and don’t mind an unstable environment.
For those people who are not comfortable with servers crashing all around them it’s better if they wait until the software is stable before going on to the next release.
If you’re a veteran of the game surely you bought the Epic edition, right? So you have beta access. Enjoy!
Veteran status means nothing in games or IRL in the workplace.
Never forget, it’s not “what have you done for me?”, the truth is: “what have you done for me lately?”
Just because you have been around doesn’t make you any more important than someone that just showed up, who may or may not be more suited to the role than you are.
Not how it works bud.
