Vestments of the Eternal Traveler Transmogrification Set

If you haven’t used the boost normally.

That too.

I might end up keeping it due to the weapon enchant. Still, this is some scummy garbage. It’s cool we can share that, that’s not the bad part. The bad part is that they advertised the mog as epic-only.

And actually you would lose the transmog because you can only get that if you have shadowlands.

That transmog really was totally extra.

Well I meant to downgrade to a less expensive version, but then I remembered the enchant came from that.

I’d probably do it anyway if I didn’t pay for it with tokens. It was free, so whatever.

Would not even be a consideration with me because a mount and boost for $25 extra is a really good deal.

$25 extra? where are you getting that from? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The upgrade from Base to Epic is $40.

you don’t need epic to get this transmog - the $25 is the different between base and heroic and that is canada prices - maybe only $20 in the us

Oh.

In the US, it’s a $20 dollar difference between Base and Heroic, and $40 for Base and Epic. Without counting tax.

I wasn’t aware that they decided to reduce it further, when I did the quest I always saw 4 to 6 drop first, then if I was lucky I saw 1 here and there rarely. But then again it’s only from humanoids, so killing other things won’t work. I do wish you luck in getting it though.

I’m more than willing to share my mount quest as MY main selling point wasn’t the xmog. I can understand why others are upset, as it was pretty much implied that you’d be preordering for the mog on top of the other rewards.

Quotes from the various pre-purchase rewards:
Base:
“Includes a pre-purchase* of World of Warcraft®: Shadowlands and early access to Death Knights for Allied Races and Pandaren starting with the Visions of N’Zoth content update.”
Heroic:
“Includes everything in the Base Edition, plus instant access to a Level 120 Character Boost and the Ensorcelled Everwyrm flying mount. The flying mount grants a quest for the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmog set.”
Epic:
“Includes everything in the Heroic Edition, plus 30 days of game time, the Anima Wyrmling pet, an otherworldly Eternal Traveler’s effect for your Hearthstone, and Illusion: Wraithchill, a cosmetic effect for your weapon. As with other Illusions, Wraithchill cannot be applied to certain weapon types.”

So nowhere does it say you can get the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler on base, but both Heroic and Epic do?

Now imagine if they had said you get access to this on the base as a selling point and people after they bought found out they had to FIND someone with the mount to share the quest.

keep pre ordering games.

Hah, it wouldn’t shock me if they did to be honest. It can go either way, and I feel like Blizzard should’ve specified it AT BLIZZCON OR ON THE PREORDER PAGE. Keeping everyone in the dark as well as just basically slapping people in the face who ordered for the mog feels like the Blizzard PR norm now.

Planned on it. Pre-ordering from companies I generally trust or games that look pretty great. If I get disappointed it’s my fault, yes, but at least I gave it a shot for myself.

If people bought it solely for the transmog assuming it was exclusive, they can just ask for a refund and it should be granted (providing they didn’t use the boost).

Agreed. I feel like this is a Bethesda Fallout 76 level stunt with the whole canvas bag fiasco. People should be refunded for false advertising or misleading advertising, and it should be baseline that if companies do this they should face some sort of repercussion, but that’s solely my opinion on that matter. Sigh At least we’re out of the dark on this specific topic.

I really want to see Shadowlands succeed, but now I worry this may poison a lot of people’s desire to pre-order, or even give Shadowlands a fair chance. That in and of itself sucks because from what I’ve seen, it looks incredible and as a expansion I think it deserves a chance.

Perhaps a fair solution to this would be for the players who purchased the Epic edition to get an extra month of WoW Game time? That’s about $15-$20 in value and could be a nice off-set to the players who feel like they were duped.

To be sure, it’s not going to be a end all-be-all solution that can solve everything for everyone; but it might be the best way to put this matter to bed so we can focus on Shadowlands. I feel like I don’t have much skin in this game, in that this does not bother me too much. But that’s mainly because I adore the mount and the other things that I got with my edition.

At the same time, I understand the people who feel off-put by this news. I was a little worried about the wording of the pre-order for reasons like this, which is actually why I’d made the thread I did a few months back.

I totally get that you guys are operating under the gun, and game-deadlines can make things super hectic (overtime is sometimes insane). But I do also think that a little better communication on the nature of the transmog, how it was obtained and what was required; could of solved this issue well in advance. In short, definite and certain terms to wax Contract Law 101.

Regardless. I wish you the best of luck in whatever course you take Team Blizzard. Thanks for taking the time to clarify things Kaivax. I hope it works out in the end for the best, and while this is a bit of a mess; know I’m always rooting for you guys.

No. It means that anyone who has prepurchased the base version of shadowlands can find someone with the higher version mount. Click the thing on the mount, accept the quest, complete the quest, find someone with the mount again, click it, and turn in the quest.
