Venthyr get Door of Shadows and a Cheat Death

When you come back can you link me to a serious Raider on alpha who agrees with you? Dw I’ll get a notification so I’m happy to wait. Thanks in advance. Have a lovely day and happy hunting.

It’s like you’re trying to strawman people but it doesn’t work and get upset they don,t fall for it.

So is Blizzard just throwing their hands up and telling hardcore players to just pick Venthyr? The Cheat Death soulbind is laughably better than the other options.

they have done LFR a total of 1 time and even then haven’t killed all bosses in the raid, they look to be a M+ runner and yet at 471 ilvl their highest is a 16 Motherload and haven’t even ran Junkyard or Underrot this season.

so they want you to try and refute him directly when he’s saying “covenants won’t matter in mythic raids and high M+/PvP” yet he has no idea what that is required for that content.

Is Door of Shadows still a two second cast? Lol

Yea exactly what I expected tbh. That’s why I’m asking for a single serious Raider on alpha that agrees with him. He has seemingly ignored me though since I have asked like 4 times previously and got no response.

I could give half a dozen that are against it off the top of my head.

Its 1.5s cast and there is a soulbind that makes it instant, its even in the same one as the Cheat Death.

Yes you basicly have everything on that soulbind. You even get free tmog! xd

Every covenant except Kyrian gets a cheat death.

Necrolord isn’t a cheat death, it’s more comparable to dk raise dead in wotlk.
Ardenweald one is a 30min one with a downside (vs 8 min with no downside).

Except they are not where near as good. Just look at the one the Night Fae get, it is a joke compared to the venthyr one.

Forgeborne Reveries is not actually a cheat death, you go back to being dead after 10s. The Night Fae one also has a 30m cooldown compared to 8m for Venthyr and you also die if the pod dies.

Wow, that sounds even more comically unbalanced than Corruptions.

The instant Door of Shadows soulbind does come with the caveat of increasing the CD by 30s which is certainly not insignificant but yea I have no clue what they’re thinking.

Preach said it best if you don’t pick Venthyr you most be trolling

Look, if you raid Mythic and this stuff hurts you, I feel bad for you.

But at the end of the day, I care about my own fun more than yours. Period.

Paragon Levels in Diablo are fun. The Paragon Level system may be extremely degenerate at the top end, requiring players who want to push for top ladder finishes to either bot or rotate multiple human beings to farm twenty four hours a day… but just because a minority of players are playing the game wrong and pushing that hard doesn’t mean we should kill a system that is fun for 99.5% of players.

I see this being the same sort of issue - people who play the game “wrong” are hurt at the expense of people who play the game Blizzard intends. Look, I like making choices. I like having certain things I can do on a character and certain things I cannot do on a character. If I wanted to do everything, I’d play a single-player game.

That’s really my say on the matter. You’re entitled your opinion, I’m entitled to mine, and Blizzard is entitled to do what they think is best to earn a sub from each of us.

It was never meant to about right or wrong, it was supposed to be about player agency. If you want to play whichever Covenant you want regardless of abilities then that’s fine and more power to you, but that doesn’t change the fact the the abilities are way out of proportion.

I’m not saying the abilities shouldn’t attempt to be balanced. I’m against throwing out the system and letting you change anything at any time for any reason simply to allow you to min-max every fight.

If your argument is I want this game to be more like Diablo, then all is lost xd

You are entitled to your opinion, but some opinions are better than others when they base themselves on logic and experience rather than feelings.

And that is your 2nd downfall, we are not playing the game wrong. This system can work without making it worse for us.

There are actually more single player games that lock you into choices, multiplayer games actually don’t lock you into choices because they have found out often that people rather quit over starting anew. Some people like me only like one class, if that class is total bottom tier like it was in BoD I might as well just not play the game.

Probably because he assumes that if it goes live like it is, it will be nerfed quickly and you will have wasted all your time on it.
