(Commentary): How do the Venthyr have more in common with the Alliance than the Horde? They don’t really seem to have anything in common with the Alliance. The entire purpose of their Covenant is to punish proud and arrogant souls until they can go somewhere else. The Alliance doesn’t punish, it just outright forgives. The Alliance’s habit of just forgiving the Horde for each war of Genocide and moving on should not just be antithetical to the Venthyr, it should be insulting; it invalidates their entire existence.
And the Horde punishes? lol, the Horde just keeps on being evil and doesn’t take any accountability, they rebel when they are in danger and then repeat the same cycle. If anything, the Horde are the evil souls there that refuse to change, not exactly what they seek.
(Commentary): Yes. Last time I logged onto my Horde alt, I recall seeing Sylvanas Loyalists in chains in Orgrimmar. When the Horde wages a war, they don’t hold back like the Alliance does.
(Commentary): Not quite. It’s just an issue with the Warchief system that has since been resolved. Regardless, I would say the Venthyr have more in common with the Horde than the Alliance.
Sure but that isn’t for justice, that is merely their captured current enemies.
The Horde follows the warchief blindly, the same people that were supposedly reveling against Garrosh were doing what sylvanas said with glee. They don’t change, is just their dame repeat cycle of doing evil things because a bigger guy said so.
The human potential made the nightelfs and the world you play in.
That would ruin his story, kael comes back to be sat as the leader making the current blef leader who is a very strong good leader meaninglessness. If anything he shouldnt join either since both sides have burned him.
He went insane due to fel infusion. His actions were done prior with the intent of trying to save his people. Hence he is still honored by his people.
Play the heritage quest. Kaelthas is an honored figure dude.
I think the Shadowland races will and should stay Shadowland, as in afterlife, races. Otherwise they will lose their significant, exclusive place in the cosmos/world building/story and become just another routine race.
They could be faction based, but you can unlock them by playing any faction. That’s how the original allied races worked.
I’m hoping neutral or give a great story how they join the faction.
(Commentary): I imagine (or hope) that Kael’thas will become the new leader of the Venthyr once the dust settles. He shouldn’t go back to leading or even ruling Quel’Thalas. That having been said, I would not be surprised to see his loyalists within Quel’Thalas forming their own faction of sorts, complete with a cult aiming at getting them into Revendreth in the afterlife to continue serving their Prince. It could even be an interesting way to touch up on the older lore Blood Elves enjoyed, while not outright trashing their developments to date.
(Example): Let’s say that Rommath becomes the head of this faction supporting Kael’thas, while Liadrin becomes the head of the faction which focuses more on the recent growth of the Blood Elves. Suddenly we might see Fel-wielding Blood Mages in the streets of Silvermoon once more with Rommath’s blessing, and armored Blood Knights infused with the light of the Sunwell glaring at them. That scene in the Bazaar could very well be replaced with Blood Knights and Magisters, where you see both sides trying to convince the people of the right course.
(Commentary): Ultimately I think it’d be a much needed catalyst to jumpstart the Blood Elf narrative and give us a way to focus on them without them having to interact with Alliance races/factions just to give them screentime. Granted this all hinges on the Venthyr being a Horde Allied Race, otherwise, I can’t see even Rommath supporting Kael’thas.
With the evidence I believe that vampires will join the alliance.
I guess that makes sense I really don’t care which faction gets which honestly.
Maybe he might be interested in the void elf’s both made agreement to get the blood elf’s home away from the horde.
(Commentary): I know that Umbric and Alleria have stated an interest in seeing Quel’Thalas return to the Alliance, but I’ve never heard Kael’thas state that at all.
Well he has been dead and I think the night fae will join the horde due to a certain night elf getting pretty mad and plus the vampires could the dark race we need plus the angels are I believe a Viking model like race that alliance players wanted. So inconclusion either neutral or alliance races. Plus I can make my Netflix dreams come true!
I just want Venthyr as a playable race. I’ve never seen a race in this game that I wanted to play as much as them. Been here since open beta off and on over the years as work demanded. I love how they look like Warhammer Vampire Counts and would love to play them.
For the people who took one look at Vulpera and were dead set on playing them that’s how I feel about these gothic vampires. I don’t care if they are Horde, Alliance or neutral.
Venthyr for the alliance would be way more palatable if you didn’t attach Kael’thas to it.
Yea but I have mix feelings that he might be more interested in the void elf’s.
It makes sense to me that Horde already have Forsaken for undead race so Venthyr for Alliance to equal that out.
