Just a general note but why do we keep getting abilities that are terrible for Solo PvE play?
It takes very little time to get the stacks actually, and imo it’s much more engaging than bone spike. I think the ability change is healthy, and can actually bring competition to bone spike.
The only thing that’s kind of confusing for me is idk if the extra laceration dmg portion of it is bugged or not. Also the 10% extra mastery is good for sub. I would argue that it could provide more burst in needed situations more so than bone spike.
It’s not so bad for solo. Well, at least compared to the fae. If you cast it on a mob and it dies before the stacks build up, you still get the mastery buff.
Would it even be worth using the mastery buff like at all?
Like wouldn’t having the extra damage on combo point finishers end up being more damage almost every time?
I think it is decent but not my cup of tea.

Depending on how it’s finally tuned, yea, it could be better in most cases to just let it ride. I think you should get the mastery buff no matter how it ends; be it target dying, reactivating, whatever. That part also depends on whether it’s supposed to do that.
On the other hand, in situations where you need to swap targets right now, wiping it yourself for the buff would be beneficial.
Because this game isn’t balanced around solo play in any aspect.
I think this is an incredibly bad take.
Balance is one thing, unusable is another. Not being able to use Sepsis (For example) for what will be a very significant portion of my play time is bad design.
You can’t use vanish in solo play the same way.

To me Sepsis needs help along with Kyrian abiity!
You can - It’s function is explicitly to leave combat and get away. It serves a perfect function in solo play for Rogues.
Vanish in solo play is defensive utility. Moves like Sepsis start as DPS cooldowns first, but the weird vanish interaction they’ve given them means you can’t use it for this when by yourself.
I’m glad they changed Slaughter. It was such an uninspired move. The replacement has very slow ramp up, but I guess is still usable - Even in Solo.
Just waiting on some good changes for Sepsis! (I mean Kingsbane is just…sitting out there Blizz. Easy Peasy.)
ST most likely, but for AoE the Mastery buff is definitely better except for Outlaw.
But you can use it solo though. You just use it as an actual execute and it resets a huge portion of the CD and you don’t vanish. Not sure why people think it’s so unusable.

It can be really high with the potency conduit. With that it does 190% damage decreasing by 10% per tick (with 10 ticks that’s still +90% damage on the last tick compared to no conduit). That would make it super easy to use as an execute.
Until you misjudge something with high health and miss killing it by a sliver only to have it reset all the way back to full. There’s better and more interesting functionality to be had, and let’s not pretend there isn’t.
they should give sepsis a buff that if you hit the ability again it will vanish the player and do some kind of direct damage but the dot is removed ect. At least i think that could work?
Anything like that with a bit of control over it would work without a complete rework. So long the CD isn’t so low as to provide infinite vanish
