I was out questing on my rogue in Hellfire Peninsula when I got jumped by a rogue. After her stuns wore off, I blinded and reopened on her. I followed my Cheap Shot with a Kidney Shot and as the hit landed, she vanished it and was able to kill me because of it. The Kidney Shot landed on my screen and according to the combat log, and as far as I am aware spell batching is no longer a thing. Could someone enlighten me on how this is possible? Because I want to learn how to do it myself. It would be amazing to just negate something so powerful with a well-timed vanish.
Spell batching is always a thing as far as I’m aware. It can even happen in retail. The server ticks are just much much closer so it’s much rarer and harder to do.
That would explain how it was able to happen. Which means it was an extremely rare, 1 in a thousand occurrence. Hah, talk about luck!
Sounds like a skill issue. YOu waited too long to kidney.
They also could have trinketed.

I looked it up and it turns out Vanish can still negate incoming spells and abilities if used at the perfect time. I should have looked it up first before posting on the forums. My bad, folks. lul
You waited too long to kidney. You need to overlap the kidney with the cheap shot during the last second to prevent this. It’s impossible to vanish a kidney unless they were not stunned
if it’s any constellation, it sounds like they could have vanished any time the last few secs outside of that CS and still won.
In Wrath, rogues were getting benched if they couldn’t reliably vanish Algalon’s big bang or Sindra’s aoe etc. Because it was a solid dps boost to vanish bad stuff, and fights were almost all dps checks.
vanish has what the fgc would call an invincibility frame, what happened was you left a gap in your cheap shot and they were spamming vanish, which immuned your kidney, you can also do this with blind, death coil etc and have been able to for like 20 years

I appreciate your reply. I found the youtube video explaining this mechanic with vanish shortly after posting; I should have looked it up first before asking here. Also, I thought I pointed out in my original post that there was a single frame or so after my Cheap Shot ended that she was able to vanish it as I used my Kidney Shot. I have done this countless times in the past with other classes, including other rogues, and landed the kidney shot just fine, but this was the first time my kidney shot got eaten by a vanish like this and it spooked me.
Yeah you can vanish pretty much anything. I have a clip somewhere of me vanishing rogue class call on Nefarian lol. For pvp, try to overlap your kidney at the end of your cheapshot so there is no gap.
