Valor Points for "A Test of Valor" Reduced

you mean working on the China only version of WoW?

that too, we’ll get around to fixing this issue never, cheers

This is very poorly implemented to say the least.

1595 and capped. Outstanding.

Put. That. In. The. Quest. You should be responsible for compensating anyone who earned valor that “dont count” for whatever arbitrary reason you came up with. You cant just tell people “go earn valor points” and then rug pull them with “oh, well akshually those dont count”. That’s unfair and completely unreasonable quest design.

1570/1600 and capped.

Accidentally, before picking up the legendary questline, I had turned in the Tillers’ daily quests.

“Oh, but you should have known better. You were warned beforehand.” Dude, I’m playing MOP, just like I played Cata without knowing anything, as if it were an expansion launch experience. I’m not a WoW rat who hunts for what’s coming out.

I can not understand why you put a restriction on something that leaves no breathing room for people who turned in 1-2 daily quests before heading to Krasarang/Wrathion for the next step.

I am now being punished for handing in the rare fish at Nat Pagle, which leaves me sitting at 1585/1600 for “A Test of Valor” - which means I am missing out on handing in the next Wrathion quests with the currently active DMF-buff on reputation gains.

You don’t need to lower the needed amount for the achievement even more - just give people the opportunity to gain Valor Points for the achievement even after they hit the cap for the week. It can’t be that hard to implement.

yep did exactly this, 4 tillers dailies on my way down, 20 short, ohwell

what’s wrong with doing tiller’s dailies? the quest literally says you can.

From the quest text:

There are many ways to prove yourself valorous on this continent, from daily tasks to the defeat of heroic enemies within their lair. I will let you choose your own course.

count yourself lucky that your quest is at least showing progress. Mine shows “0” not “0/1600”. Just “0”. And I got all 1600 through celestials. In game tickets have done nothing.

There is the “A Test of Valor” quest and then there is the “A Test of Valor” achievement. Track the achievement to see your progress (I don’t know why they did it that way)

yes, and it’s broken for many of us. The achievement is not showing progress and the quest is not showing complete.

Same problem for me.

I don’t know what problem you’re having in understanding, the achievement only appears when you get the legendary quest, if you only had 1600 value to get in the week and ended up gaining value from quests or dungeons before getting the legendary quest, you end up having value before opening the quest/achievement count, so you will be missing value for you to complete the 1600 of the quest that week BECAUSE YOU EARNED VALUE BEFORE OPENING THE COUNT

Let me go slow for you as you seem to be the one with the problem understanding:

First, I turned in the “Incoming…” quest.

Second, I accepted “A Test of Valor” and the rep quest. At this point I had earned no valor for the week nor did I exchange any valor currency.

Third, I ran celestials until I gained 1600 new valor and capped for the week. I did not know at this time that there was an achievement that could track the quest but I noticed that the quest didn’t track it. It just said 0/1 on the completion status in the quest log. At this point I saw that the quest still didn’t show complete so I looked around the forums and learned that there was an achievement that tracked the amount of valor that you had towards the objective. I looked up my achievement and the tracker says “0”.

You can turn your caps lock off now.

Looks like anyone that was unlucky enough to get one of the many DC’s right after accepting the quest that first night might be in this boat and be SOL until next week. Looks like we have to abandon and reaccept the quest and start over a week behind.

Can we please get an update? The longer this goes on the harder it will be for us to complete the forced pvp part of this questline.

I think the saddest part is how easy the fix is because they did it already.

Change it to 1500. Half of 3000. Why did you even pick 1600 in the first place.

Just change it to 1500. It solves the problem for the majority of people and we already know you can do it. Just. Do. It.

And make VP from all sources count. The quest tells you and I quote “I will let you choose your own course”. That means it is designed to count VP from all sources. If the devs were going to add restrictions as to what counts and what does not, that needs to be communicated in the quest dialogue. Its not fair quest design.

Honestly It’s fairly obvious why they made it 1600.

Sure it’s obvious what could be earned in a week. But if they were trying to cut the time taken for the quest in half they failed miserably. Only a very few would be done in 1 week, still the majority will take the 2 it would have taken without any reduction.
