Valor Points for "A Test of Valor" Reduced

This change came out hours after the game indicated it was 3000 giving space to use some before we started the quest.

I think you’re just trolling at this point, so have a great evening.

I am just sitting here trying to figure out what either of you get out of this combat. Look… we agree… but not all the way… you get it… but not completely… lol… at this point just go bake a cake and sing happy birthday to each other.

What space. Starting from 0 is starting from 0. Valor is farmable. The ONLY issue would be if someone is valor capped.

I’d say what I think about your stupid arguments, but that would result in me getting a forum ban.

No the DH is just being incredibly obtuse. I did the new dailies pre-hotfix before I picked up the quest, as I knew there would be wiggle room as you needed 3k and 1600x2 is 3200. Changing it to 1600 will just put me at 1580/1600 for the quest, still requiring 2 resets.

My current copium is that VP granting activities will still give progress towards the quest even if you’re capped, I probably won’t be able to test that out until tomorrow though.

It’s possible it still counts the valor earned after the cap, but then they could have just left it at 3k. For those who wanted to they would still be able to get it week 1.

If you’re not valor capped you can simply run celestials or heroics. Not hard to do and still easily achievable unless you are hitting your valor cap.

Yeah people have been trying to communicate to you that valor capping before hitting the 1600 required for the quest is the issue, due to completing any number of VP granting activities before picking up Test of Valor and before the hotfix was issued.

RIP I bought 1 valor thing from the celestial vendor by accident so of course Im screwed this week

Yeah. I also got screwed by this, so I get to be a week behind in getting my gem socket because of a couple dailies. Thanks for nothing. The only way to fix this is by allowing valor that would have been earned past the cap to count toward the quest, but I won’t hold my breath.

I mean it’s better then being behind by 2 weeks since it was reduced to 1600 from 3000.

It’s earned not spent

They wouldn’t be behind another week unless they earned more than 200 valor. They bought valor with a fragment which counts as 10 valor earned for the week, enough for them to not be able to complete it this week.

yeah i know

After reading your incredibly dense-minded argument with that other fellow I’m convinced you’re just here to troll. Guy says what the problem is, you repeat it like a parrot. He explains it and you go “I know that’s what I’ve been saying”.

Not to downplay anything, it is a pretty annoying problem, but…were people actually still capping their VP every week in order to not have that buffer? I’m like 4k under cap because I just haven’t had any reason to grind valor lol

why would u make August Stone Fragments -to- Valor Points not work toward earning valor… now anyone who has bought 1 is screwed for a whole week?

As for me personally I’ve been no-lifing the celestial chance bags until i got all 11 so I’ve certainly been capped the whole time. Too bad though, I got 5 VP before getting the quest so im gonna be 1595/1600 this week.

That’s an oof. But at least you aren’t missing out on anything major, a prismatic socket is what, like 0.15% of a stat? -ish

I think people capped VP so they could convert to JP and upgrade gear (least I did). I didn’t worry about cap thinking it’d take 2 weeks, only for them to hotfix that they’re dropping valor. I made the mistake of doing farm first, so I’m gonna be valor capped until next reset which like you said is whatever.

As someone who is forced to wait another week because I valor cap thru spamming celestials, blizz reducing the valor cap to “help players” and then making it so doing literally one daily quest makes u wait that extra week anyway just feels weird, should hotfix it so its spent and earned, or just make august stone conversions count towards the quest.

I somehow gained 200 valor from something on my paladin and have zero recollection of what could have done it, don’t remember doing any heroics or buying bags before starting the valor quest

2 weeks it is
