How so? What is the group doing so wrong that you need to waste a vanish on it. We have done similar content and i have never felt the need for vanish to be used defensively while having Shadowmeld available. Rare instances i guess, but not enough to hold it for the rare occasion the rest of the group fails to do their job.
yes, it is nice to be a rogue, and have more access to abillities like ambush,cheapshot and crackshot.

We had the same with last expansion without having to use vanish as a offensive ability with dance
Boss mechanic targets the Rogue
Rogue vanishes before cast finishes
Entire group avoids taking damage
Or it re-targets and blasts the Hunter in the face. Either way, not your problem

And thats fair. The reason you have no other options is cause the other capstones are dog water.
I run the talent that makes evasion give DR and feint 20% along with its 40$ aoe dr. That’s more than enough to reduce damage to nothing. Also a lot of boss effects that target, will just retarget anyway. Might as well stack evasion+ feint and eat it for free. That is my opinion.
thats assas, you dont need it and can still garrote and rupture 3 targets at a time for 6 seconds so why would you take subterfuge at all.
