I feel the exact opposite. If you are not using consumables why the eff not? Do you know how many health and mana pots i have in my bags from picking up Crates in Strat? Those bad boys are getting used. Got an herbalist/alch alt. Swiftness and faps for days from leveling. I am thinking about dropping tailoring in a few more weeks once i make some more mooncloth bags. Then take up engineering just so i can spam Iron Bombs to my hearts content. The aoe stun is like having another racial talent! aka warstomp. Yum.
You might just be doing WSG as a leisurely stroll through the park but some of us are here to induce fits of rage as i FAP+STOPWATCH up the tunnel with the flag.

I totally agree. But I will also absolutely drop an MCP charge in warsong gultch if I get frustrated enough with specific people that I need to destroy them regardless of cost.

so true consumes are for noobs
Consumables being a thing you can actually use is one of the good parts of vanilla, take it away and your strip some of the RPG out of the game for minigame balance.

says the rogue hahahahaha good one
btw only a nub wouldn’t know that Consumables are a part of classic pvp. I’d rather all addon-nubs be removed before they totally nub up wow(I know it’s too late)
There was plenty of it in vanilla. It’s a big advantage if you can afford it. I use some, but not too often.
Swiftness pots and FAPs mostly
The number of horde using consumes/shadowreflectors/grenades on me in world pvp is sky high.
It does not save them. They die anyway having spent money just to die a few seconds later.
I don’t see why anyone would have any problem with this. If not in BGs, where the heck else are people supposed to use consumables? Raids?
Consumables actually allow the classes that don’t excel in PvP to have a chance. A non-demonology warlock (as an example) gets hard targeted by every melee class because he have no ways to escape - no gateway, no teleport, no blink (and deathcoil only buys us 3 seconds). Consumables like FAP/Swiftness let us keep up, and Sapper charges let us do proper uninterruptable AoE so people will actually take us to premade AV games instead of just taking more mages.
Consumables are available to both factions, and share cooldowns. If I FAP, I can’t then use a healing potion, so I’m making a choice. I’d argue it is comparable to wondering why people wear raid gear like ToEP in battlegrounds. You do whatever you can to have a competitive edge, because at the end of the day a battleground is a game, and people like to win. I like to win enough that I’m willing to blow gold on it, and then use my time later to farm more gold. Others have a similar opinion about raiding and will blow gold on pots and flasks there. It comes down to some of us enjoying being at our class peak - we enjoy the exercise of min/maxing using every tool available. This includes best talent choice for the scenario (in some cases respec twice a week), best gear (raid + PvP), best professions (engineering), and best consumables.
EDITED: because dang, my grammar was terrible in the last one.

As a hunter, I love grenades. I use them when people try to take advantage of my deadzone, especially mages. Gives me a stun that allows me to keep scattershot free for as soon as I am free to get distance. I have tons of them because they are a part of leveling engineering, and they cost close to nothing.
I often feel that people complaining with the use of consumables are just ego hurt players that lost a fight or couldn’t get the killing blow and they are mad. Maybe you guys should go back watching GoT and hear what Bronn has to say about fighting battles “fairly”
Lol. Pre mades required flasks? We had no time and no gold. Lets not make things up.
Now I wanna challenge ppl to a 3 legged race… THANKS GLINDA! =P
